Nell Carter's family was killed in a horrible attack barely surving herself Nell decides to get revenge on those responsible for the attack. What I liked about this book is the transformation of Nell from the shy retiring housewife to the kick butt hero she becomes.

Amber Okay don't get me wrong I freakin' love this book!!! This book is the reason that I keep coming back for more Iris!!! She is such a strong writer....

My question is.... why is this in the romance section?

I love how the book starts out strong and never lets go! I can't wait to talk to others about this book!

Linda **Spoiler** I like the transformation Nell makes from shy, polite wife to killing machine in order to avenge her daughter's murder. The development of the relationship between Nicholas and Nell slowly grows and entwines them both. One of the scenes I thought was sad when Phil was in kitchen with Tania and she was making her grandmother's goulash, unbeknownst to them both the killer Maritz crept into the house because the front door was unlocked. She was kinda reminiscing about her grandmother's recipe. The whole time the killer was lurking in the house. She was feeling so safe in the house but now it isn't safe anymore. I liked Tania more than Nell.

Trisha I was really surprised that I enjoyed this book. I don't usually go for romance-ish types of book. I typically like the tragic Romeo and Juliet to a sweet "happily ever after book" or ones too crammed with sex. But this one was nice and light. the romance wasn't heavy at all and I enjoyed the budding relationship between the two. I liked the plot (which was not about them just getting together) but was actually a type of mystery "who done it" more than romance. It was a great twist and has reminded me not to close the door on romance novels because they are not all alike.
