Assiya | 1 comments Hello! I'm Assiya from France/Algeria. I am a newbie to Russian Literature but I have fallen so quickly in love with it all that I now aspire to read the works in the Russian language someday. So far I am reading Crime and Punishment and I have read also White Nights and some of The Heart of a Dog. I have just finished ordering in W&P, Anna Karenina and The Bro. Karamazov so I'm so excited for those! (I got a little overwhelmed though with all the different opinions on what translation to get)
P.s I am also new to good reads so I'm a little unfamilar with how the system works

It's lovely meeting you all!

Keith (macmurry) | 6 comments What a pleasure to discover fellow readers of Russian literature. I'm not alone. Except for a few short works I read years ago, I knew nothing about Russian literature. About 4 years ago, I asked a young friend of mine (about 12 years old) what he was reading. "War & Peace," he replied. I determined to not be outdone by a child on a subject about which I was embarrassingly ignorant. So that conversation began what I call "The Great Russian Literature Project." I finished CRIME & PUNISHMENT in Feb. 2020. 4 years later, I'm still at it, most recently finishing THE LIFE WRITTEN BY HIMSELF by Archpriest Avvakum.
Some brief bio info: I have a graduate degree in English from Penn State, and I'm currently a reference librarian at a small college in west Texas.
Look forward to participating in any conversations on Russian literature.

Mart R (buttonsbooks) | 1 comments I'm a Russian adoptee. I read Russian Lit to feel reconnected to my ancestors / absorb the dry humor that I relate to / learn about the history / laugh and grieve my family trauma.

I know a bit of the language. I can read Cyrillic fine, but do not understand what I am reading. Womp womp.

Nick | 1 comments Hi all! I’m Nick. I’m from the southern US and I’m a pastor and a teacher. I’ve been on the edge of my “Russian Lit” phase for a long time and have yet to make the full plunge, (although I’ve read a little Solzhenitsyn and Dostoevsky but that is about as far as I’ve gotten). I’m also slowly learning to read and speak Russian.

I’m hoping to find something akin to a book club so that I have regular accountability but also folks with whom to read and discuss great books!

Sue Atkinson | 45 comments I'm Sue, have been on this site for a long time but to be honest I am so lacking in technical ability and struggle to find it again so I don't appear on here very often. I spent a long time immersing myself in Russian Litarature and need to get back into it as I have loved it dearly, particularly the poets - mainly Marina Tsvetayeva. I have been trying to learn Russian for years and read it a bit, but struggle to speak it and my grammar is rubbish! Hope to get back on here more often!

Mark André Hi All! My name is Mark. I’ve been a goodreads member for nine years. I just read the classics, and always in English. I am a huge fan of Russian Literature and have read extensively some of it’s most famous authors.

Zina (dr_zina) | 1 comments Hello there.
This is me, Zina. I just was searching for Mumu, for no real reason, and I saw a discussion on here and I felt like people were lacking historical contest. So I figured I'd join and weigh in :)
