I had just experiece this feature and honestly I hate it. I don't really see the point of it. I like the back and forth discussions.

I think it would be cool for "Favorites" threads, favorite series, favorite authors, favorite book dudes, etc. Where each person can only give one addition to the thread, then members can vote for their favorites. Then the list is ordered by the most liked at the top.But definitely not for discussion posts, so the fact that GR is calling it "this is a discussion question" makes no sense. A discussion question warrants a discussion. They should be calling it an interactive poll or something like that.

Laura Lulu, I do think that it could work for favorites threads, but the way it's named and positioned, and the utter lack of explanation, makes it a nuisance as it is. :\
Haha, I've done that. Sorry, I am still a little new to this.
When you start a new thread, you can mark a checkbox that says "this is a discussion question" and then it looks like this:

When checked, each member can post only one post per thread, which isn't conducive at all to discussion or back & forth communication. And you can then vote on people's comments, saying you dislike them or like them, and the thread is also no longer in chronological order.
Please never use this feature in this group. I would much rather we go along with our usual back-and-forth conversations in thread. If you've marked a topic as a discussion question, please either edit the topic and uncheck that box, or let a moderator know and we'll fix it.
