Haha, weird. We didn't do the exact same thing, but we also were almost never allowed to write anything fictional. We always wrote these "books" that could only be three pages long and they had to be true stories about our lives. Laaame.

Isaac | 8014 comments I would have DIED at a page limit. In fifth grade we were supposed to write a short story about a horse. While all the kids wrote a page long thing about a horse, another girl wrote a ten page story about a horse and everyone freaked out. However, I wrote a seventeen-page Western romance. Did I mention I had to read it out loud? Because it took me so long to finish it.

Haha oh my gosh, that's amazing. :D I mean, I was referring more to younger elementary school ... in fourth and fifth grade we were allowed to write longer things, but we still didn't have that many assignments that involved writing fiction. At one point in fourth grade we all had to write a short story about what we thought a mollusk was, and I ended up writing this story about these creatures that were like part lion, part horse, and part deer ... I forget if I've posted any of it here but it was pretty epic. I remember reading it to the class and everyone was like "whoAAA." XD

Mary Bey | 33 comments The only thing fictional we wrote was during our poetry unit. That`s why I didn`t even know I could write till sixth grade, cause everything I wrote before was used the bullcrap "let`s start our paper with a question...and answer it method!"

... So yeah I found the mollusk story (which I'm pretty sure I've never posted here???). It's a little long I guess, but ... yeah. :P To preface the story: My fourth grade class had gone to a taxidermy museum on a field trip, and there was this thing there called the Bird Balcony (pretty self-explanatory, haha), and there was this door up there that said "Mollusk Department: do not enter" and we all had to write a story about what mollusks were and why no one was allowed through the door. So uh this is what I came up with. O_o

-----

The Mollusks

“ Mollusk Department” the sign on the door read. Mollusk? “What’s that?” I thought. Underneath “ Mollusk Department” was written the name “ R. Johnson”, and underneath that, a strange poem was taped to the door. I didn’t understand what it meant, but the words made me feel strange and uneasy. The Bird Balcony didn’t seem so safe anymore. I suddenly felt like the floor was going to collapse.

I turned around, about to walk down the steps back to the floor below where I would feel safer, but an old man stood in front of me “ I’ll tell you what a mollusk is.” He said in a low, croaky voice. He read my mind! The old man sighed a heavy sigh. Then he told me this story:

When the first owner of the Peabody Museum died, another man took over. This man seemed friendly and good. But really, underneath, he was a cruel, evil, wizard. He was thinking of an evil plot.

He built a room up on the Bird Balcony. He put a sign on the door that said

“ Mollusk Department—Do not enter”.

Everyone who passed it looked at the sign and had no idea what a mollusk was. Nobody knew what the owner had put inside. They also noticed that the door was unlocked—anyone could have just walked in, but all the people didn’t dare go inside.

Now one day a man named Ronald Johnson came to the Peabody Museum. (Ronald? That means that his first initial is R! I thought. R. Johnson! That’s the name written on the door!) R. Johnson was a very curious man. While he was walking around on the Bird Balcony, he happened to see the door. He read the sign. Of course, he didn’t know what a mollusk was—but he wanted to find out. R. Johnson looked left and right, and behind him, to make sure no one was watching. He tried the knob. It wasn’t locked! He opened the door and stepped in quietly.

The door slammed behind him, and suddenly R. Johnson found himself face to face with an ugly creature—a mollusk. The mollusk had the head of a lion, the antlers of a deer, and the body of a horse. It growled. R. Johnson could see behind it about twenty more mollusks. They all began growling.

His heart pounded. He whirled around and both his hands flew to the doorknob. He tried to open the door, but it was locked. Then R. Johnson heard an evil, but quiet, laugh. When he turned around he saw the owner of the museum standing there. “ I knew that someone wouldn’t be able to resist!” he cackled. “ Now there is no way out! You must train the mollusks now, and stay here forever! You shall never get out, and worst of all, you will never die!”

R. Johnson knew that he was trapped. He would never see his family or friends again. He would only have the repulsive, angry mollusks. What good were they? They would never be good company. Ever. Now he had to train them. That was the worst part—or maybe it was never dying. R. Johnson didn’t know.

That night he had to feed the mollusks. He was surprised when he found out that they were herbivores. While he was feeding one of them, he thought of a question that seemed stupid to him, but he thought he’d give it a try.

“ Can you talk?” He asked the mollusk.

“ Yes.” The mollusk said in a deep, slow voice. R. Johnson got a bit excited.

“ How can I tell which are males, and which are females?” The mollusk lifted its hoof. It had sparkling rubies around its ankle.

“ Females have rubies around their ankles, males have opals around theirs.” She said. R. Johnson was fascinated. He looked at all their ankles, and saw that some had rubies, and some had opals.

Soon, after talking more with the mollusk, he found out that all these mollusks had been captured from a magical world by the evil wizard. They wanted their freedom back very badly. Some had been separated from their mates, or children, or both. R. Johnson was determined to free them.

R. Johnson lived with the mollusks for ten years. He tried to think of ways to free them, but nothing came to him. Mostly though, he just took care of the mollusks. He fed them, and cleaned them, and once he got to help deliver a baby mollusk!

Then one night, R. Johnson had a dream. An angel told him to look in the closet, behind the mollusk food. When he woke up, he was tingling with excitement. He tiptoed past the sleeping mollusks. He opened the closet and pushed the bags of mollusk food aside. There, in the back, was a door. R. Johnson tried the knob. It wasn’t locked! He opened the door. His eyes widened.

All the mollusks suddenly woke up. They all ran to the closet and stared through the door. There, was their magic world. They saw the rivers and trees and grass. Some shouted that they could see their homes. They said a quick thank you and goodbye to R. Johnson, and jumped through the door, back to their home.
R. Johnson was sad to see them go, but was happy that they were free. He closed the door and turned around. He was startled to see that one mollusk remained. It was the female mollusk that had first spoken to him. She refused to leave, but wouldn’t tell him why.

Suddenly the door flew open. There stood the owner, the evil wizard. He shrieked a horrible scream. “ You—you freed them! The mollusks! NO!” The wizard melted before their very eyes.

Immediately the mollusk turned into a beautiful lady with long blonde hair and a ruby necklace. She had been cursed by the wizard, and had become a mollusk, but now that he was dead, the spell had broken, and she was a human again. The two of them ran out the door.

They went to R. Johnson’s house. His family greeted him and hugged and kissed him and cried. They had though that he was dead. Then R. Johnson got married to the beautiful lady. They visited the Mollusk Department often, even though it wasn’t the same without the mollusks.

Of course, no one can live forever, and, like all people, R. Johnson and his wife died.

“ Now no one goes through that door.” The old man said. “ That’s where they put the coffin of R. Johnson. People say that his ghost haunts it.” He grinned a strange grin that almost seemed evil. “ But they are wrong.”

He turned around and started to walk away. “ Wait!” I called after him. He turned around. “ What’s your name?” I asked. His grin became even stranger. “ My name is Ronald Johnson.” He said. Then the ghost of R. Johnson disappeared.

THE END

Mary Bey | 33 comments Guys, here`s the first few chapters of the fanfiction I ever published. It`s for the Mortal Instruments series, and it`s so bad I took it down out of embarrassment. I`l post the rest of it later. Warning, IT SUCKS.
Chapter 1: Oh no, Isabelle!
Isabelle still could not believe it. She glanced at the test again and felt like she was going to faint. It couldn’t be true. How could she have been so careless and ended up pregnant. The fact that the dad was the faerie knight, Meliorn that she had recently broke up with made it even worse. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment and shame. She tiredly glanced at herself in the mirror. Her long dark hair was neatly braided down her back and her pale face was smudged with makeup. She stared at the test on the counter and was filled with self-disgust.
“Why?” She grumbled “Why? Why? Why did you have to be so stupid?
You`re so stupid. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!”
She quieted down as she heard a knock at the door.
“Izzy are you all right?” Jace asked her through the door, sounding concerned. “Can I come in?”
Isabelle felt even more nervous at the sound of her adoptive brother`s voice. How in the world was she supposed to give him the news? Sighing, she got up and opened the door.

Isabelle`s Mistake chapter 2
All characters belong to Cassandra Clare.
Jace stood outside of the bathroom in a pair of soft blue pajamas. His blond hair was damp and she assumed he had just taken a shower and was about to go to sleep. Without thinking, she through her arms around is slim, muscular frame and hugged him tightly wanting to never let go. Isabelle finally released him and stepped back.
“Sorry,” she mumbled. “I don`t know why I did that.”
“Don`t be,” He replied gently. “Are you okay? What`s going on?”
“Yes,” She replied, her voice shaking. “I`m-” She broke off not knowing what to say. Instead of continuing she simply shoved the pregnancy test in his hands. Jace stared down at the object in his hands. His mouth dropped open and his eyes widened in shock.
“Isabelle,” he asked in disbelief. “Are you pregnant?”
She nodded. “How am I going to the mom and dad? How am I going to raise a baby? What are we going to do?” She sounded scared.
“We`ll figure that out.” Jace said. “Do you know who the dad is?”
“Meliorn,” Isabelle answered. “I doubt he`ll want the kid. I guess I`m alone.”
“You don`t know that for sure and you`re never alone. We`ll help you.” He said.
“Thanks Jace, goodnight. We`ll talk to mom and dad tomorrow.”
“`night Izzy.”

Isabelle`s Mistake Chapter 3
Isabelle woke up soaked in sweat. She had barely gotten any rest and was plagued with nightmares about her parents` reaction. She stumbled into the bathroom and quickly showered and dressed. Isabelle then walked down to the kitchen and was greeted by the others. She smiled and sat down, not feeling the least bit hungry. As she gazed at her family and Clary, her friend, she tried not to think about how much they`d hate her when she gave them the news. She sucked her breath.
“Mom, Dad everyone, I have some news.” She announced quickly. They all turned and stared at her expectantly. Jace smiled at her encouragingly.
She cleared her throat. “I`m pregnant.”
Alec stared at her. “Isabelle, by the Angel, please tell me you`re kidding.”
Isabelle groaned inwardly. She knew how protective her older brother was. “No, Alec, I`m not joking.”
“Are you sure Izzy,” Maryse said, hoping it was a mistake.
“Yes mother,” she replied. “I`m sorry.”
“My little sister is pregnant,” Alec muttered in disbelief.
“I`m going to be a grandmother. I feel old already.” Maryse mumbled.
Robert who had not spoken the entire time turned to Isabelle. “Me and your mom are very disappointed with you, but we still love you.”
“Thank God,” Isabelle said under her breath. “Bet it won`t go as well with Meliorn.”

Isabelle`s Mistake Chapter 4
Cassandra Clare owns all these characters.
Isabelle tip toed through the damp underground passage with her brother. Her clothes were soaking wet and she shivered from both the cold and the anticipation of speaking to Meliorn. She walked faster to keep up with her Alec`s long strides. Suddenly several vines rustled and her ex-boyfriend approached them. Isabelle avoided his eyes.
“What brings you here?” Meliorn asked in a cool voice.
“I wish to speak to you.” She replied neutrally.
“What is it,” He said in a loud, clear voice. “that you must discuss with me?”
Isabelle stared intently at the floor. “I`m pregnant,” She mumbled. “and you’re the daddy.”
He stared at her and spoke in that irritatingly calm voice many faeries use. “The Fair Folk are not interested in a child with Nephilim blood. As far as I`m concerned, this baby has nothing to do with me.” Without another word, he turned and swiftly walked away. Isabelle never cried, but now hot tears trickled down her face and her whole body shook. Alec pulled his sister into a tight hug.
“It`s ok.” He whispered in her ear. “We`ll all help you with the baby, you don`t need him. Mom, Dad, and Clary can babysit and help with late night feedings so you can get some rest. I know me and Jace have the willpower to change diapers, once we learn how. I bet even the Daylighter`s band could try to play some lullabies.”
Isabelle let go of her brother, laughing. “Thanks Alec,” she smiled weakly. “You`re the best.”
He turned to his sister. “Just remember Izzy,” He said gently. “we`re all in this together.”

Isabelle`s Mistake Chapter 5
All characters belong to Cassandra Clare.
Two months later……….
Isabelle woke up feeling anxious. Her fist ultrasound was today and the whole family would be there. Best of all, she would know if she was having a son or daughter. She dragged herself out of bed and quickly showered and got ready. Isabelle glanced at herself in the mirror was surprised to see she was ever so slightly beginning to show. She could only imagine the comments Jace would make about her bump. She walked down stairs and greeted the others. Her parents, Alec, Jace, Clary, Simon, Magnus, Maia, and Jordan were all waiting for her. They all stared at her stomach but said nothing as they Portaled to a local mundane hospital. As she filled out the paperwork in the waiting room she listened to the others talking.
“I can`t believe we`re gonna be uncles.” Jace murmured.
“I know,” Alec said. “I already promised Iz we`d be on diaper duty.”
“Duty?” Jace smirked “No pun intended.”

“Maybe we`ll have a baby someday, that`s almost as cute a you.” Maia gushed.
“I hope it would be just as gorgeous as you, sweetie” Jordan replied, wrapping his arms around his girlfriend and kissing her passionately.

“I can`t imagine Isabelle once she starts to really get big.” Simon said with wonder in his voice.
“Me neither,” Clary said.

“I`m going to get to see my grandbaby!” Maryse blurted out excitedly.
“I know,” Robert said, grinning.
“Isabelle Lightwood.”
She stood up walked into the room with everybody else. Isabelle felt somewhat embarrassed as she pulled up her shirt, exposing her bare flesh, and cringed as the woman squirted cold goo on her belly. The nurse moved an object across her tummy and she heard a steady, rhythmic, beat.
“That’s your babies` heart beats” the lady informed her. She smiled tearfully. Then she scrunched up her forehead, confused.
“Did you just say beats, like more than one?”
“Yes Ms. Lightwood,” The nurse replied.”You`re having twins, a boy and a girl.”

Isabelle`s Mistake Chapter 6
All characters belong to Cassandra Clare. And, by the Angel, please take the time to write a review.
Isabelle had finally accepted the fact that she was having twins. She and the others were at Taki`s, and Kaelie was taking their orders.
“I`ll have the cocoanut pancakes.” Clary said.
“Spaghetti.” Jace ordered.
“Blood pudding.” Simon said to the faerie, and smiled, showing his fangs. Everybody groaned in disgust, while Maia, Jordan, and Luke, who had just arrived with Jocelyn, ordered raw burgers. Everyone laughed when Magnus and Alec both ordered fish, joking that the warlock only liked fish because its` scales were shiny. Izzy and Jocelyn both ordered milkshakes.
“So,” Jace announced casually. “What are you gonna name these babies.”
Luke choked on his drink. “Babies?”
“Uh-huh,” Magnus grinned. “Isabelle`s having twins.”
“Boys or girls?” Jocelyn asked excitedly.
“One of each,” Simon answered. “I personally suggest they be named dungeons and dragons.”
Magnus rolled his cat-like eyes. “I think chairmen meow and church are better choices.”
Alec laughed. “I don`t know, but Robert should definitely be the boy`s middle name.”
“I agree,” Luke chimed in. “I also feel it would be appropriate for the girl`s middle name to be Isabelle.”
“I like those names,” Isabelle said. “But what should we choose for first names.”
“What about something nature-related, like Rocky, or Brooke, since the twins will be part faery.” Clary suggested.
She shook her head. “Those names aren’t bad, but I hate to think about how they will be half fey, thanks to their daddy.”
“Maybe the girl could be name Maia,” Jordan added, his arms around his girlfriend.
“I like it. It`s a very pretty name. Maia Isabelle Lightwood sounds beautiful.” She said approvingly.
“I think the boy should be Max, after our brother.” Jace said, struggling to hold back tears.
Isabelle smiled. “Okay. Maia Isabelle Lightwood and Max Robert Lightwood it is.”

Isabelle`s Mistake Chapter 7
All characters belong to Cassandra Clare.
Isabelle`s clothes were ridiculously tight. One morning, as she buttoned up one of her favorite shirts, she felt like she was suffocating herself. Isabelle calmly took a deep breath, and, much to her horror, one of the buttons popped off. She knew what she needed and the thought of it was not pleasing. Never, in her life, did she imagine she would be wearing clothes from the maternity section. She headed towards her mother`s room first, and pulled on one of the larger shirts. She then walked downstairs to ask Clary to take her shopping. Sadly, everybody was out demon-hunting, except Jace.
“So,” He said. “I suppose you were going to ask Clary to take you shopping for maternity clothes. Too bad I`m the only one available.”
She rolled her eyes and sighed. “I guess you and I are going shopping.”
Jace grinned and she fought back the urge to slap him. He made a Portal in the wall and motion for her to come. “Well, what are you waiting for, Porky?”
After being thrown out of the Portal they stumbled towards her least favorite section in Target. Isabelle grabbed a large silky pink nightgown and tried it on.
“What do you think, Jace” She asked as she came out of the changing room.
“I think,” He said thoughtfully, “That you look like cotton candy, sweet and puffy.”
She glared and him as she tossed the garment into the cart.
“What,” he said innocently. “I said you were sweet.”
Isabelle sighed and picked out a wide blue dress. After throwing on the pretty blue thing in the dressing room, she came out and stood in front of Jace.
“Better?” Isabelle asked in a sarcastic voice.
He nodded and whistled. “Big is beautiful.”
She snorted and stuffed the dress in the cart. Isabelle tried on two more shirts and three pairs of pants with more stupid comments.
The last shirt she tried on was green will yellow stripes.
“You look like a watermelon.” Jace informed her.
“Would you rather,” Isabelle replied jokingly. “Me look like a mango?”

Isabelle`s Mistake Chapter 8
All characters belong to Cassandra Clare. By the way, I do know I could have these chapters all on one page but did not figure that out that till later on.
Isabelle Lightwood gave birth to her twins on May 18. They were born at home, since a half fey child may look freaky to a mundane nurse. Maia, the girl, came first. Clary was the first to hold the baby, and was the one that cut the cord, washed the child, diapered the newborn and sat the baby girl in her mother`s arms. Maia was the most beautiful baby, and for a moment it felt as if the world had stopped spinning in her honor. The infant was pretty, but a bit strange and it was obvious she had faerie blood. Her skin was pale lavender and her green hair had colorful flowers growing on it. The only thing human about her was her green eyes that unlike a faerie`s, had a pupil. Maia`s twin, Max, came last. It was Jace who had cleaned the little boy and put him in Isabelle`s arms. Like everyone else, Jace had tears in his eyes and they all were thinking of Max, the innocent child that had died at only age nine. Today he would have been an uncle. Her new son was just as gorgeous as baby Maia. He had powder blue skin and his thick, curly hair was deep purple. His eyes matched his sister`s. That day no one thought about how young of a mother Isabelle was. Nobody thought about the dad that was not here. No one thought about how they would raise the babies. The one thing on everybody`s mind was the two little miracles that had been brought into their lives`, Max and Maia. And that was all that mattered.

Isabelle`s Mistake Chapter 9
All characters belong to Cassandra Clare.
Isabelle was finally able to sleep. She had been up all night caring for the twins and was now taking a nap while the others watched the babies. Nobody except for her parents, who were not home, knew anything about taking care of an infant. They all groaned as Max Jr. screamed loud enough to break glass, his blue face purpling as he continued to wail. Jace sighed as he picked up the crying child and stroked Max`s sweaty violet curls and laid him down on a blanket. He carefully open the boy`s diaper and made a face as Max gave him a “shower.” Jace blinked, sputtering, and couldn’t help but smile as his nephew grinned and let out a raspy giggle. He put a fresh diaper on the baby and handed him to Jordan before heading off to taking a real shower. Clary smirked at him and sighed, bored. Maia was dozing peacefully in her lap, and she could not move an inch without waking the girl. Jordan, however, was having a wonderful time make goofy faces at baby Max and making the infant laugh. Clary rolled her eyes feeling jealous. Suddenly the baby stirred and sucked on her lilac thumb hungrily. She turned to Magnus.
“Maia`s hungry,” she said, placing the kid in his lap. “Take her while I go heat up a bottle.” She skipped to the kitchen, grateful. Magnus smiled at the baby and made a mental note to purchase her some glittery diapers. Baby Maia pointed at his eyes and started purring. He laughed. Clary returned with the bottle and handed it to him. Magnus brought the nipple to her lips and she downed the food in seconds. He walked over to Alec.
“All yours sweetie,” He handed his boyfriend his niece and a burping cloth. After patting Maia on the back, he went to go change and handed her to Jace, glad it was an old sweater. Little Max was finally asleep, and Jordan took a break and gave him to Clary. Maia was sleeping in Jace`s arms as he sat beside his girlfriend. And for one moment, all was quiet.

Isabelle`s Mistake Chapter 10
All characters belong to Cassandra Clare.
A big beautiful cake sat in the middle of the table. It was covered with blue frosting and Happy Birthday Maia and Max! was written in purple icing. It was the twins` first birthday and everyone was celebrating. The table was coated in confetti and bowls of candy. Balloons wre tied to each chair and there was a large stack of presents on the counter. Young Maia`s eyes drifted over to the gifts as she curled up on Simon`s lap. She was wearing a blue dress covered in sunflowers and her flower hair was pulled up with a glittery ribbon for the occasion. Max however, sat and Jace`s lap and seemed more interested in the food. His green eyes never left the cake and his mouth was crammed with sweets. He was dressed up in khaki pants and a green sweater. Clary led both children to a large arm chair and brought them their first gift, from Isabelle. They tore off the paper eagerly and held their tiny very own witchlights. The twin`s faces were lit up with amazement as the stones lit up their faces. They squeaked a thanks before unwrapping the next gift, from Simon. The present was two matching yellow tee-shirts that read “Sneaky Smurf Society,” the current name of his band. They hugged him gratefully before moving on to their grandparents` present. Maia and Max smiled from ear to ear as they received two beautiful faery dolls. The toddlers clapped their chubby hands together as Jace gave them a promise that they would have a bath in spaghetti that night. They were overjoyed when Uncle Alec gave them silly little temporary rune tattoos and snuggled with the sparkly blankies from Magnus. The last gift, from Clary was a box of crayons along with a shadow world coloring book. Finally they returned to the kitchen for cake. After singing “Happy Birthday” the twin ate the cake with their purple and blue fingers. As they gobbled up cake their smiling faces were covered with food. Clary quickly grabbed her sketchbook and began to draw the twin. Seeing Maia and Max grinning, giggling, covered in birthday cake was one image she never wanted to forget.

Isabelle`s Mistake Epilogue
All characters belong to Cassandra Clare. I`m sorry to say this is the end of this story but I already have ideas for a new story. I want to thank everyone who has given me a review, or even viewed this story. I honest didn`t think that my story was at all good so the views and reviews were just the support I need and the encouragement I needed.
By the time Maia and Max were five years old, they all had families of their own. Magnus and Alec were married, and were busy chasing after 2-year-old Malcolm, the warlock they had adopted. Yet Alec always took a break and wrestled with the twins, and Magnus always found time to allow the kids to play dress up with Uncle Magnus` clothes. Jace and Clary said their vows years ago, and had their hands full with 3-year-old Clancy(girl) and 5-month-old J.C. (Jonathan Christopher) and were expecting a daughter. No matter how tired he was, at the end of day Jace would have his niece and nephew sit on his lap and tell them stories about killing demons, and Clary would never hesitate teaching them to draw different runes. Even their step-dad, Simon, who`s band, Dracula`s Decedents, was now a huge hit, had time to give the guitar lessons. And through Maia and Max`s dreams, no matter what, Maryse`s lullaby always protected them from the darkness.
A la Claire fontaine, m`en allant promener. Il y a longtemps queje t`aime. Jamais je ne t`oublierai……….. (French ballad)
