She staggered once more, but was blindly searching, and fell to the ground unconsious. The last sight she was was Wraith's body and Phantom peering through the trees, watching. She felt rage as she saw Phantom, standing there doing nothing. She didn't know of his injury. She searched in the darkness but gave in fighting it, awaking later with her stinging paw, a major headache, and wires around her.
Wraith still lay unconscious, stretched out in another cage. Her breathing was shallow, her proud tail lying limp.
Fawn peered over to Wraith and barked frantically. Her tail and body were limp and she feared her alpha was dead. She howled a painful howl and bit at the thin wire of the cage.
Wraith's notched ear twitched, and her tail flopped feebly on the floor of the cage.

Wraith's notched ear twitched, and her tail flopped feebly on the floor of the cage.
Fawn whined at Wraith and a human entered, seeing her. He made a noise by putting his lips together and sucking in, making it sound like he were calling a dog. She growled and lifted her tail a bit, not enough to challenge Wraith's authority, just to show she was stronger than the human. The human took no notice and she let it lay limp again and she growled at him, pawing at the notch that opened the wire cage.
Wraith whined softly and rolled over onto her side, her eyes cracking open slightly. "Fawn?" she growled softly.
She whined, looking over to Wraith and howled happily. She was alive. The human left, startled by the howl, and she walked over to the wire barrier in between them. "Wraith!" she said, "you're alive!"
"Of course I am," Wraith grunted. She twitched her shoulders and raised herself into a sitting position. "What happened?"
Wraith swore and, shaking off the last vestiges of sleep, pricked her ears. "Any weaknesses in these contraptions?" she asked in a businesslike tone.
"The metal thing that they use to turn and open them" she reported, nodding to the cages, but they were locked. She whined loudly and attracted the man's attention.
"I know you'll be disgusted but when I was little I encountered humans. I know their weak point" she said and whined even louder so the man would come over to the cage. She pulled her ears back shying away from his outstretched hand, risisting the urge to bite it. She whined at the back of the cage and lay down, looking up at the man's naked face. No fur. He opened the cage a crack and stuck in a stick to make sure she wouldn't attack. She ignored the stick and he outstretched his hand to her muzzle foolishly. She bit in hard, causing the man to shriek in pain, and jumped out, immediately heading to Wraith's cage.
Wraith threw back her head and howled. "Do not anger him! Revolting as it seems, our lives may be in his hands!"
She stood frozen to the spot as Wraith commanded her. This could be their chance to escape! She whined but in the time she was still the man muzzled her making her growl and shake her head furiously and grabbed her, stuffing her back in the cage. She growled and pawed at the muzzle after it was closed and ripped it off, abandoning it on the floor, disgusted.
Wraith sat calmly on the floor of the cage, though her flattened ears betrayed her anger and frustration.
Fawn lay down with her head on her paws, whining angrily. The man came and gripped the sides of her cage, wearing thick gloves, and loaded her into a machine. She did the same with Wraith's cage and they were side by side in cages in the darkness of a now-closed trunk of a van.
Snarling under her breath, Wraith allowed her eyes to adjust. The air was thick and musty in here, and she stifled a whimper. She rose and paced nervously back and forth in her cage.
Fawn pawed at the wires, looking over into a window just ending at a few inches at the top of her cage. She stood at the highest height on her hind legs and looked in, seeing the man turning and directing something that looked like a garbage can lid with holes. She whined and sat back, worried about where they were being taken. How far away was their forest?
"We're moving farther away from the forest" she said unhappily. "We're in one of their machines that move things to other places"
Wraith remembered the machine that had carried the two hunters in their pursuit of her and Phantom. The memory brought back a twinge of pain, both physical and emotional. Wraith lay down with a sigh and began to lick at the wound where a bullet had grazed her side, while wondering what had happened to her mate.
Fawn remembered also and murmurred, "...Phantom... do you think he's alri-ght?" she asked, the pause coming from a swift stop and a slam of metal that made the van shake. The man had parked and gotten out somewhere.
Wraith grunted at the abrupt stop. "He's probably fine," she growled. "He's the alpha for a reason."
"I hope they don't come looking for us, they'll get captured too" she said her thoughts out loud. The man had come back holding some circle thing with a hole in the middle that smelled sweet and tasty. He got back in and started the van again and they were off racing past trees and buildings again.
Wraith sniffed at the object. "Smells like food," she growled. She shook her head, hackles raising. "I'd rather starve."
She nodded in agreement and backed away into a bowl of water, shaking the water from her foot in disgust. Dry bits of junk lay next to it and she sniffed them cautiously
"Don't eat anything they give you," Wraith growled, hackles raised. "It might put us to sleep again --permanently."
She winced as the man got out of the van, went through the back, and sniffed cautiously at him. He smelled like rabbit and rabbit blood. Out of a small cold box, he brang them two fully-skinned, dead rabbits. She looked at it, feeling her stomach rumble in hunger, but listened to her alpha's command. Not even when he dropped in the meat at hers and Wraith's feet did she eat the raw meat. Even if it was normal food...
Wraith nosed the rabbit away from herself with disgust. "We'll be fine, Fawn," she growled. "We've both gone for a month without food before."
((Holy shamolie! How about at the Sanctuary she has them and she is fighting with another alpha at the time. She has pups, is weak, and the other wolf tells her to step down or he'll kill her pups?))She nodded and sat away from the meat as the man opened the back doors wider to a place she had never seen before. Wolves watched her from behing bars, some looking quite hostile, especially one that had his head, ears, and tail straight up in the air. They unloaded them and they were taken by different people. The van drove away and she whined, knowing they lost their chance of getting home soon. They were placed in some building and muzzled.
((maybe...and in advance, ashfire wants to be one of the pups, hawkeye))
Wraith growled deep in her throat, pawing uselessly at her muzzle. "Stupid humans, what are they doing?" She threw herself against the walls of her cage.

((idk...i was thinking, all this stress would probably kill some of the pups...at least one has to survive, though))
((Aww I wanted to be one :( but yeah the stress could...))She growled loudly as they opened the cages but it was no use against the tight muzzles. They bound them down on tables and examined their fur and eyes and paws. They even had the courage to shave a patch of fur off of both her and Wraith to look at their skin. Then they put them in slippery things full of water and scrubbed their fur with bubbles and foul smelling liquid. She growled and struggled but in the end they bound her inside the thing and scrubbed her clean. The water beneath her was brown with the forest dirt she loved so much.
Wraith snarled furiously, thrashing about and sending water splashing everywhere. Her amber eyes were filled with indignant rage and hatred.
((Lauren you stoleded my photo >.<))Fawn continued to snap at the people's fingers but the muzzles prevented her. They drained the water and she shivered as they led her out of the slippery prison. They blew warm air at her and Wraith until they were both dry and led them outside. They led them through a gate, near the other wolves, and unmuzzled them, letting them go and quickly closing and locking the gate, leaving them with the other wolves.
((ikr, i was so confused!))
Wraith instantly bared her teeth, her hackles lifting. "Stay by my side, Fawn," she growled, glancing around at the enclosure with pricked ears.

She nodded and growled at the wolf in front of her, coming closer. He had his tail and head and ears lifted high, growling at Wraith. He must be alpha here, she thought. He wont rule over Wraith! She snarled at him and said to Wraith, "Look at him"
"I'm looking," Wraith replied dryly, scrutinizing the male through narrowed eyes, her tail flicking.
Wraith gazed coolly at him. "We are not of your pack. I am alpha in my own pack. Leave us be; we shall depart in peace."
Fawn growled in agreement but the other wolf disagreed. "There is no way out" he growled at Wraith. "And there is no other pack. This place is too small to split the territory anyways"
Wraith tilted her head. "We do not have to associate with one another. That way we can avoid unnecessary violence."
"There is no other pack" he repeated calmly. Fawn growled but he ignored her and stared into Wraith's eyes calmly.
"There is now," Wraith growled. "I wish you no harm, stranger. I assure you, I am not here by my free will."
"Neither are we" he said. "And no, I will not allow two packs. The people here feed all the wolves in a group. If you wish to have food, you will join my pack, but i am alpha. If you are your own pack you will starve. There is no prey in this place either."
"That's ridiculous," Wraith growled. "I would rather starve than take food from humans like a mere dog. I will not join your tame pack."
"Tame" he snorted. "Go ahead and starve. Learn the hard way. But if you will not join my pack, you will not get any food. Like it or not, they have the only food here" With that he growled and walked way, signaling to his pack to follow him.Fawn growled in annoyance. "Wraith, what if they're telling the truth? I dont like the idea of starving. We need to find a way out"
Wraith licked Fawn's shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry, Fawn, we will. But I will not sink to the level of these mutts. I am a free wolf."
She nodded, still concerned, but she stayed calm since she trusted Wraith. She growled defensively at the other alpha who had stepped forward."You two are fools. You won't survive here without the meat they feed us and if you ever cross our paths again, we will attack. You've chosen the wrong path" he growled and turned away into the forest, signalling for his pack to follow
"Brave words for tame wolves," Wraith growled scornfully. She turned to look at Fawn, her expression suddenly unreadable. "It seems as if my pups will be born among humans and their dogs."
