Melon...it was a little squishy. Hospital food isn't great. Starting to crave falafel. :)

Tell us more. Sausage? Spinach? Provolone cheese?

message 3159: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments It has an Italian Sausage/Hamburger blend with garlic parsley and salt, it has a cottage cheese/egg/Parmesan blend with parsley and it uses mozzarella.

That sounds like good old-school lasagne. Yum.

Jim | 6484 comments Well, seeing as I'm at work, and the recipe isn't, and we are going out for supper and then having people over after I will try to remember to post it when I get home.

Susan | 6406 comments Fine, fine.

That is better than what Phil produced for us.

Phil | 11852 comments Aw, c'mon. Ala is easy. The only thing easier is boiling an egg. I'm sure you all have some variation of the recipe already, but here it is.

2 Tbsp butter
1 cup bulgur wheat
2 cups broth (or water & bouillon cube)
Veggies of choice, chopped (I use celery, onion, carrot)
Dill
Salt & pepper

Brown the rice with the butter in a saute pan.
Add the broth (or water+bouillon) and veggies.
Add a dash of dill, then salt & pepper to taste.
Bring to a light boil, then reduce heat, cover & simmer about 25 mins.

Eat.

They're not bad. About 20 cents cheaper than goldfish.

Total toddler food, but whatevs. Sometimes I just need something tiny and non-vegetal to snack on that won't ruin my appetite.

message 3177: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Oh, I eat the goldfish. So does the husband. So much so that I have to reiterate that I buy those for little. The dumb bags are small and he can chow down some days.

The chocolate chip graham ones are pretty tasty.

Phil | 11852 comments Last thing I ate was too much crap during gaming. It's a total diet wrecker.

I did go to Costco earlier tonight, and bought a hotdog for Mrs. Phil and a slice of pizza for the boy.

Those Vosges folks know their chocolate. I've tried the bacon and the hot pepper flakes and the ginger bars. I think we also tasted a sample of one with wasabi. YUM. I always try to pick up a few bars in the Chicago airport.

message 3190: by Riona (new)

Riona (rionafaith) | 488 comments Yeah, I have a serious weakness for expensive artisanal chocolate bars with unusual ingredients. The bacon one is good, but I wish it had bigger chunks of bacon. What's even better is their chocolate covered bacon caramels. The smoke & stout bar was really good. I wasn't a huge fan of the ginger one, but it was okay.

You can have the caramels, but I'll take your ginger bar if you don't love it.
