Around here that is popular to have photos in Chinese and Thai restaurants. Not the high-end ones, but some of the places frequented by international students. They may not know what something is called in English, so they check out the photos.
Last thing I ate:
spaghetti with meatballs
chard with vinegar and salt
garlic bread
wheat beer
now
white wine

Yeah, when is that ever appealing?
Also not appealing: when the real food, a whole meal, is put on a plate and sits in some kind of display window. It forces you to think about how long the food has been sitting there and how nasty and congealed it's getting.

Just made myself some mixed pasta with fresh peppers,(Three kinds), mushrooms, Onions and garlic. Threw in my usual mix of garlic salt, Chilli,Paprika, Mixed herbs, white pepper, oregano and salt. It was fantastic.
This a.m. I had coffee and egg in a hole. Not going to go too nuts on breakfast as I am attending a fundraiser for Christie Vilsack (running against Steve King for US Congress) and there is state fair food. I am hoping for a decent corn dog and a big glass of fresh lemonade.
I do know what that means. On a humorous side based on other peoples attempt to look intelligent. A year or too ago when I was genuinely interested in making a point about language and genuinely cared about proper and theoretical linguistics my friend Paul who has many humorous qualities btw. Pointed to a box of 'Toad on the Hole' laughed and said one word that was meant to make a point, "Marketing. The joke for him being that it sounded a wee bit wrong in the screaming 'harder, harder...oh God...Oh God!!' kind of way. The point being that he didn't realize it was a long standing name for the product and just thought that it was ridiculously sexualized advertising. Never make a point when you don't know what you are talking about.

My MIL called it "moon over Miami."
I just ate a tunafish sandwich on everything bagel with CSA lettuce, scapes, and white onion with farmer's market tomatoes.
