According to Mr. Angela it is beyond gross when I eat a peanut butter sandwich with bbq chips crushed on it...........which I am currently enjoying. Whatever. Some of the stuff he eats would puke a buzzard off a gut wagon.
That's a colorful expression I've never heard.Last thing I ate was the meat of a few walnuts I cracked. I like cracking them.
I like cracking them, too.I was buying walnuts for cookies the other day and saw they wanted $8.50 for a one pound bag of shelled walnuts. I went to the bulk section and bought 2.5 pounds of nuts for $7.00. After shelling, I had about 1.5 pounds (maybe a little more).
Cheap bastard, I am. But I had fun.
A bowl of Boy Scout Kettle Corn popcorn, with black pepper sprinkled on top, and accompanied by bites of extra-sharp cheddar cheese. Yum.
No lemon tea here, but I have so much citrus in my house right now. My neighbor brought over lemons, oranges, and pink grapefruit from her trees. Grapefruit for breakfast tomorrow.
I'm not really eating right now. But my mom made some crawfish etouffee for dinner tonight. It was so delish that for the first time ever, we ate it ALL... no leftovers. There are usually leftovers. I think we all ate 2-3 large servings. And I don't even typically LIKE crustaceans!
This weekend I went over the way to where the Mexicans (that work my horse) live for a bbq. Tamales, cicarones (sp?), cavichie, carnitas cooked in lard in a cast iron pot on an open oak wood fire. Handmade tortillas. The best eats I've had all year - maybe ever. (I'm trying to get adopted - as an anchor baby- by these wonderful, generous people). Only the kids speak enough English for conversation but they are exceptional in their kindness, wit and intelligence. If this is the new face of America, we'll all be fine.
