It was fun posting the 82 books that became available for free while I was on vacation. And they just keep on coming. Today we have one book on Taiko drumming; several recently-released academic books about literature; and some large collections of supernatural/horror classics.

Louder and Faster: Pain, Joy, and the Body Politic in Asian American Taiko by Deborah Wong

Witness to Marvels: Sufism and Literary Imagination by Tony K. Stewart

Literature as Recreation in the Later Middle Ages by Glending Olson

Interpreting Greek Tragedy: Myth, Poetry, Text by Charles Segal

The Masters of Horror for Halloween: The Greatest Works of Edgar Allan Poe, H. P. Lovecraft, Ambrose Bierce & Arthur Machen - a collection of 40 novels by four authors.

Dracula's Halloween: The Best Horrors & Supernatural Tales of Bram Stoker

The Spine-Chilling Tales for Halloween: 350+ Horror Classics, Supernatural Thrillers, Occult Mysteries & Ghost Stories - 14,392 pages; 35 authors.

Halloween Collection Treat: 600+ Chilling Macabre Classics, Supernatural Mysteries, Gothic Novels & Horror Thrillers - 27,653 pages; 136 authors.

Sligo McKluge (sligo_mckluge) | 409 comments Be sure to read the reviews before downloading these. Without spending a penny, you can decide for yourself whether there is any literary merit in them, or if it's just pornography from a few centuries ago.

Justine by Marquis de Sade.

Philosophy in the Bedroom by Marquis de Sade. I'm offended that the publisher, Anna Ruggieri, can't spell "philosophy". Sloppy editing is common in free books, though.

120 Days of Sodom by Marquis de Sade. Classic tale of debauchery during the reign of France's Louis XIV.

It should have been just another missing persons case. But a clever killer has other ideas....

When a young football coach doesn’t come home one night, his beautiful young wife turns to Private Investigator Burnside to locate him. But things are not the way they seem in this riveting page-turner, and a simple missing persons case evolves into a shocking murder. There are no shortage of suspects in this intricately woven story, and P.I. Burnside must overcome the many obstacles in his path to get to the truth that no one seems eager to learn.

The 9th Burnside novel is a treat to read, as the story brings back some fascinating characters from Burnside’s past – as well as adding a host of new ones. And it wouldn’t be a Burnside novel without the wise cracking gumshoe engaging in the sharp and cutting banter that has come to define this award-winning series.
