The publisher e-artnow has just released a batch of classics. As of this moment, there are 25 free ones. I won't list them, but the link below will display the list, sorted from lowest to highest price.

There is something for almost everyone: SF/fantasy, a mystery, a romance novel, autobiographical novels, a book on European history, some essays about Christianity, and some illustrated collections of the works of Lewis Carroll.

Sligo McKluge (sligo_mckluge) | 409 comments Please delete the previous post, Sandra. This is not a discussion group for reviews, and the book you raved about is $3.99. This group is for listing free books.

More self-promotional posts have been popping up recently, too (Darlene Jones, Jay Nichols, Antonio). Fans of the "Free books" discussion group may flag these as "self-promotional" and Goodreads will delete them if there are enough complaints. I intend to delete this post if the other non-conforming posts disappear.

My wish is to keep this discussion group clear of off-topic posts that waste our time. I hope the authors will use other available methods to promote their books. Good luck.

I had to chuckle at that. I'm banned from posting my book lists on a Reddit group because the lists are web pages on my personal web site. They consider that to be me self-promoting my web site. Even though I have no affiliate links or advertising. :)

Silly Reddit people! I did not mention your name as a self-promoter because it is clear that you are not promoting books YOU wrote, or shilling for a friend. Your listings adhere to the mission of this group. Of course there would be some folks on Reddit who would find fault with your posts, but I believe many readers of this group love your contributions!

I don't have anything against those authors who self-promote. I just don't wish to see it here. I'm hoping others will flag them before hundreds of new authors notice that it's okay to post here, because no one flags the self-promoting posts. I believe it takes more than one flag for Goodreads to act, and I hope others will flag irrelevant posts to help keep this group clear of spam and self-promos.
