(in each pair, the blurry Musaicum cover is to the left, and the cover of e-artnow's October release is on the right)

Musaicum Books has released 217 free books today. Even though I've been collecting free public-domain classics for years, I still found a bunch here that I've never downloaded or read. As always, the price may change in a day or two.

The formatting of the content seems to be perfectly fine on the ones I looked at, even though this batch has fuzzy cover art. They appear to be blurred versions of cover art from prior releases of these titles. Perhaps they can mass-produce these by not spending much time on the cover images.

Is anyone interested in academic books from university presses? Some colleges offer "Open Access" books that are permanently free to the public. Here are a few that were released recently.

Henry James' Travel: Fiction and Non-Fiction by Miroslawa Buchholtz. A multifaceted approach to Henry James’ idea and practice of travel from the perspective of the globalized world today. Each chapter addresses a different selection of James’ fiction and non-fiction and offers a different approach towards the ideas that are still with us today: history reflected in art and architecture, the tourist gaze, museum culture, transnationalism, and the return home. 126 pages. Published by Routledge.

Advancing Equity Planning Now - 301 pages of essays on city planning and development. Published by the Cornell University Press.

Rules of the House: Family Law and Domestic Disputes in Colonial Korea by Sungyun Lim. A dynamic revisionist account of the Japanese colonial rule of Korea (1910–1945) by examining the roles of women in the civil courts. 167 pages. Published by the University of California Press.

Mountain, Water, Rock, God: Understanding Kedarnath in the Twenty-First Century - the author, Luke Whitmore, situates the disastrous flooding that fell on the Hindu Himalayan shrine of Kedarnath in 2013 within a broader religious and ecological context. 290 pages. Published by the University of California Press.

Sligo McKluge (sligo_mckluge) | 409 comments Greg, you have almost 200,000 books? Just ebooks, or do you also have a massive library of old-fashioned books made of paper???

Anyhow, glad to help everyone to round out their collections. Here's a batch of 99 books published on Dec. 12 that I never bothered to post here. Most are old self-help books that are not interesting to me, but YMMV.

Of interest in this batch (for some of you) are:
- Grimms' Fairy Tales in German
- several books by Mexican journalist Ignacio Manuel Altamirano, in Spanish
- three Shakespeare plays (I found two that I didn't have yet)
- two self-help books by actor Douglas Fairbanks (one includes anecdotes from his life)

As always, the prices are likely to increase any day now.

M.G. Darwish | 4 comments Titanlord: Of Death & Sacrifice

VEDA. POLLUS. MAGNUS.

The Magmars rose in rebellion against the rule of Titans and casting them into forgotten legends and myths. Then the lies began, and just as they rebelled, another gave them a taste of their own medicine when he waged war on them. He was called the Red Hand.

The Red Hand was branded a traitor and an outcast, yet within his grasp lays a deadly sword that is said to rival the power of Titans.

The Crown grew frustrated as they tried all of their tricks to stop history repeating itself, and in process revived a secret so grand it could spell the end itself.

Demons and mythical beasts roam the lands, as everyone tries to make sense of the needless war that continues to this day.

Kindle Edition: Free on Christmas Eve only!
