I've been looking for a copy of this...seemed like it's summary had a really unique concept...is it as good or different as it seems?

I'm currently listening to that on an audiobook. I'm quite enjoying it!

It is different in a way, however it has the same magic theme around. It is really good, though a bit slow-and boring- in the first pages, once you get to know what's happening, it is really a good read.

I just finished Harriet Evans' I Remember You. I liked it although it felt a little disjointed in places. There are CL authors I like better and who rang more emotionally true, but Evans ' writing is generally good and i think she is capable of hitting the mark. Maybe another of her books will resonate better with me. I will give her another shot.

I just finished reading Cleopatra, A Story. Probably not chicklit. But a beautifully written biography of her life, her relationships and her reputation through history as it was interpreted by men.

I am now onto something a little lighter, 'Can you Keep A Secret', by Sophie Kinsella.

It's times like today where I realize how much I love Chick Lit. I just finished reading Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris, and I do not see what all the hype is about him. Thankfully I can now go back to reading Chick Lit!

I will be finishing up Baby Needs a New Pair of Shoes by Lauren Baratz-Logsted. It feels like coming home again!

I am currently reading Life Skills by Katie Fforde after finishing the dense 'If on a Winter's Night A Traveller.' I love how comforting chick lit is and how accessible it is. No matter what kind of day you've had or how much you're tired from working or studying chick lit is a welcome escape.

I'm reading "Fools Rush In" by Kristan Higgans. She writes for Harlequin and I usually don't go for 'romance' but I heard her romantic comedies were more like chick-lit than traditional romance. I have to agree - it's a fun read!

I have revived my love of Sarah Dessen. I just finished reading "Dreamland." Although I'm older than the characters she writes about I always end up feeling connected to them. This book was so touching I cried during the last few pages. I definitely recommend any book by Sarah Dessen.

I just finished 'The Story of Edgar Sawtelle' by David Wroblewski. I highly recommended it! A couple twists and an ending that sticks with you.

How is it? I passed it up in the bookstore because it was a YA novel. I wasn't sure how it would translate. Although it did intrigue me to see how a young Carrie Bradshaw would be.

I read The Fixer Upper awhile back. It was definitely a good read, very inspiring.

I'm now reading Me & Emma by Elizabeth Flock and it is really good!

Arch, it's funny in an OMG, I'm glad I don't live in the South any more kind of way :). (My husband's from Atlanta, I'm Canadian). It's kind of over the top in places for me - humor about things like domestic violence and sex with minors. Kind of died at the end.

The book rocked into the top 100 on Kindle in two months, so I was curious. I think the writer has a future - she created a great character voice. It seems like it's one of those books that people have really different opinions about :).

I just finished Goodnight Tweetheart by Teresa Medeiros - read it in one weekend. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me and I couldn't put it down!

I just finished "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana Rosay. I loved it! I loved the history, the mystery, the characters!

Was that not a beautiful book, CJandres? I almost hated to love it, the subject was so haunting. But I loved it just the same. Weaving such hope in such a story of grief---De Rosnay's a talented lady.

I just discovered the Jessica Darlings series by Megan McCaffrey - I'm tearing through "Sloppy Firsts" and just bought "Second Helpings" and "Charmed Thirds" at the Borders Going Out of Business sale - love the main character - what a feisty, intelligent, funny and 'real' girl. Anyone else read these books? What did you think?

I just finished The Three Weissmanns of Westport by Cathleen Schine, which is about two middle-aged sisters and their mother. Anyone who loves Jane Austen should read it. Also recently finished Lost Dogs and Lonely Hearts by Lucy Dillion, about a 39-year old woman who inherits her aunt's house and kennel. Both books were excellent although Schine's prose outshines.

Try books by Gemma Townley, especially the Jessica Wild series that starts with The Importance of Being Married. You might also like Hester Browne's books. Start with the Little Lady Agency.
