This story is really wonderful. Sad, and loving, a gift of hope for Samuel. Definitely worth enjoying. Congratulations on this release, Bryl.
Bryl, this is as delightful a story as a bunch of daffodils, popping up through the snow. What a lovely springtime gift. I wish I could track you down and give you a hug.
Margie and Sarah, you guys are great... thanks. The inspiration for this one came from none other than the Victor J. Banis. He had this new, young gardener see...I thought his story deserved a story (actually, his story got me to thinking). At Day's End is what my sordid brain came up with.



Samuel's not just feeling old, he is old, but he's not dead... not yet. And the bright spot of his week is spying on his hot new gardener. No one knows better than he does how ridiculous it is to think a twenty-something beefcake would show any interest in a recluse like him; fifty years hasn't changed a thing, really. Though Samuel feels a connection he can't explain, he's stunned beyond words one Friday morning to find the young man knocking at his back door....
