Did you all know? Goodreads just added a new poll feature, so now every group can create its own polls for its members to vote. This might be useful for us in voting for monthly book selections (and make it easier for the moderators), but unfortunately we can't create ranked polls just yet. Check it out under 'polls' in the group menu on the right.

Yes, I think this will eliminate tallying the votes. We'll still have to nominate, but if we vote via the polls, they should tally automatically for us. Right?

Angie | 512 comments Can you add a link for this poll? I would like to use it in my other groups that I mod for. Thanks!

I don't think you need a link, Angie. Just look over there on the right under Rory Gilmore Book Club. The first line is "group home." Keep going down until you see polls. It should show up in all your groups.

Robbie Bashore | 592 comments Potentially, we could use the poll feature for the "Dean, Jess or Logan" and "Chris, Max, or Luke" questions.

I'll need to check into it as far as voting for a book because I don't know if it allows for an individual to vote multiple times (as in I vote five times on the same pole), which would be a problem. There is then the problem of the gravity of each vote (1st, 2nd, 3rd) if we were to work the initial problem out. So we'll see. For sure not changing things for the current voting cycle.

Thanks for filling us in, Dini!

Angie | 512 comments I agree about people voting more than once... that would be a problem. I think for this particular group voting in the thread works well. Plus I have fun seeing what other people are voting for.

About voting more than once, I think you can change your vote but it still counts as one vote. I just tried it in voting for "Who would you pick for Lorelai's forever guy". I chose Luke and then experimented by changing it to Kirk (heh), and then Luke again... but I'm still in it for you Luke, don't worry! ;P

Angie | 512 comments This is good news.. I have a Stephen King group and this is what I will use to start voting for books! Thanks!
