Reading 1984, The Book Thief and The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. Trying to read most books of the Rory Gilmore book list.
I just finished Huckelberry Finn, started Northanger Abbey and have Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and A Tale of Two Cities to read for this month.
My sister made me a to-read list (but only 20 books...) and I started with Anna Karenina!! But I'm almost finished :)
Re-reading "Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone".
All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, it's amazing! It's going to be a five star rating from me!
I created these icons for each genre in good reads theme.https://www.behance.net/gallery/27033...
Please check it out :)

I am reading Accidentally Married on Purpose (Entangled bliss Love and Games book 3) by Rachel Harris
Really liked House of the Spirits by Isabelle Allande I read for a book club pick and think you will enjoy it Iris
I just finished The Awakening by Kate Chopin. Has anyone seen the movie based on the book. Grand Isle?

Just started 'Game of thrones #2' and I love it! I highly recommend 'The perfume' by the German author Patrick Süskind.
On my 'tbr' next month:
The virgin suicides - Jeffrey Eugenides
L.A Candy - Lauren Conrad
The Glass Menagerie - Tennessee Williams
Effi Briest - Theodor Fontane
Started reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens this week. Before that, i read War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. I'm in my classics mood. :)
Reading a mystery this time. Wife of the Gods. So far pretty good. Author is Kwei Quartey and a new author for me.
started "Orange is the new black' after getting hooked on the show recently, I was late to the bandwagon. I'm liking it so far
Just started Deenie by Judy Blume.Recently finished The Kite Runner and The Bell Jar and have to say they are a MUST-READ!
I'm about 3/4 of the way through Middlesex. Really enjoying it, the style is very chatty like you're having a conversation with a very interesting person. Fascinating story, well told and the technical info is presented in a manner you can understand.Im a sucker for book lists but I really like the Gilmore reading list because it's so varied in scope.
In the few weeks, I've read Bel Canto and the Kite Runner, both are also on a list of books that are 'most addictive page turners' as well as the Gilmore book list). Anyway, both are addictive page turners! I loved both of them for the descriptive phrases and especially, the relevant history in Kite Runner. Both are keepers on my shelf.
I read Devil in the White City. Enjoyed it, the author is a master of telling "2 stories within one novel". He did this in "Isaac's Storm" as well as Devil in White city and frankly, I don't know how they can fit both stories into one upcoming movie.
I reread To Kill a Mockingbird and fell in love with her writing again. I read about half of Go Tell a Watchman and was indifferent to her writing, I doubt I'll bother to finish it.
ETA: Finished Middlesex this afternoon and I loved it! So I started
The Virgin Suicides this afternoon and so far, so good.
Hi Anne!I am doing Rory's book challenge for the same reasons. I love the diversity! I also just finished The Kite Runner. It was amazing! I recently finished The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath and highly recommend it! These 2 have definitely gone down as favorites. I am actually just about to start Oliver Twist!
Happy reading!
I am almost finished with The Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri. I really like the way she writes. If this book isn't already on Rory's list, it should be. I previously read The Namesake , which Lahiri also wrote. I liked that one, too.
Reading The Little Prisoner by Jane Elliott. Very disturbing so sad to see what children can be put through
I also read Where'd You Go Bernadette and The Opposite of Loneliness . I liked both of them, too.
Rosareading wrote: "The Fellowship Of The Ring, it's so beautifully written. Forgot writing could be this good."I just bought all 3 books at my local Goodwill. I can't wait to start them!
I just started Girl, Interrupted. I'm really excited about reading this book because I recently read The Bell Jar and wonder how similar they will be.
