I think the host is way better than twilight. the story makes me running to find out whats next. Its also unpredictable. twilight is just too predictable, Its like before you read the ending you can already know whats gonna happen so my point is of coarse 'the host'

I think it depends on if you are an adult or a teenager. I liked the Host better (and definitely Ian over Jared) but I think each will appeal more to their target audience.

My thoughts EXACTLY. And I agree with the pp who said she would re-read The Host but not the Twilight saga. The main reason for me is because The Host is more complex, though I have truly enjoyed everything Meyer has written thus far.
The Host was better, only because it was not all about love, and sparkling, and it has a better plot. It has better characters, and it is just written better. Host is one of my favorite books, Twilight on the other hand, isn't.

Oh, yes. Definitely read it; you'll be glad you did. :] The first chapter is confusing, but don't let that turn you off. It will make sense soon. After I finished the book, I actually went back and re-read the first chapter and felt I got a lot out of it.
Host all the way im still compare that book to the ones im reading now and i read a year ago!!
The Host. I enjoyed them both more than I'd like to admit, but the Host was so much more creative, and really keeps you thinking! I read it over a year ago and I still wonder about the characters sometimes. I wish she'd write a sequel..

I think that twilight movies have taken most of her time & she has forgotten a little bit of THIS wonderful story
Acamua wrote: "The Host! More action. I wish they'd make it into a movie!"They are! Check out Meyer's site for information: www.stepheniemeyer.com .
Since I read the Twilight series first and fell absolutely in love with it before the movie came out and ruined it for me, Twilight is my favoreite because it was my first. However, Host is very close in my favor to Twilight.
Acamua wrote: "The Host! More action. I wish they'd make it into a movie!"They already chose the director and the actress who will do melanie/wanda's character. The script is done I think. Actually the Extra Chapter that Stephenie released last year, she did it because she knew that the movie cant be done in first person POV so she wanted to show what happened when Mel woke up after the separation.
THE HOST. It's hard to believe those books were written by the same author. They give off such a different feeling. I loved the characters in The Host soooo much more too.
I was scared to read the Host because I had read all of the Twilight books ( shudder.) I'm glad I did since I found it had a lot of depth and perception of the human experience. Love it!

I just have to say I loved Twilight you cant help put just to fall for Edward but The Host and Twilight are both different. Ones paranormal and the other is dystopia but I have to say The Host is my fav its sad and beatiful and wonderfully written
The host hand down! Love it! It was awesome want a second book to this to see what happen next. LOVE IT <3
I am and will always be a Twilight fan, but the Host was really good. I SAY THE HOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like the Host better (well, for right now... my opinions are always changing when it comes to books!).
Stephine Meyer writes for a young adult audience. So of course her writing style is going to be different then some of the books meant to be read by older people, but I thought The Host was a book anyone could enjoy, regardless of age. The vampire thrill took off and writers are still benefiting from it so no wonder they keep coming out with more. Finding a really good one is some times challenging. I love the Twilight series when it came out. I thought it was a simple and adventurous read, but The Host was my favorite of the two.

Im definitely with you on that one.
Im definitely with you on that one.
Josheka wrote: "Tha Host was 10000000000000000000000000000 times better than Twilight. Loved The Host.... :D"sooooooooooooooooooo agreeeeeee with this!!!
Yeah, i agree with you! the Host is wayyyyy better! there is just something about it that makes you want to reread some parts and just keeps you rooting for Wanda. there's soemthing to it i just like to reread to make myself happy. but my mother doesn't understand rereading. she thinks its a waste of time.
