Emily | 3 comments Blond girl raised in isolation by father, I think maybe she was adopted, or even somehow genetically engineered. She runs a lot, and he trains her using lots of technology, she is socially isolated, and I think maybe people sometimes view her through one-sided windows. Maybe other people are involved in creating her "perfectionism". Constant testing from father. Sexual undertones in the book between girl and her father.

What year was it published? Was it YA or adult?

And now I want to read Goldengirl...

Themis-Athena (Lioness at Large) (themis-athena) | 71 comments There's a "Goldengirl" movie as well (an adaptation of the book), starring Susan Anton, Curd Jürgens, James Coburn and Leslie Caron!

Emily | 3 comments I'm 99% sure it was Goldengirl! Thanks so much for answering. I think it's more an adult book but I read it when I was probably way too young...maybe why I had trouble remembering the title!

P.I. (thewordslinger) | 14 comments Yep. It was golden girl and it was NOT YA. I read it back in the 1970's.
