The Lawman Claims His Bride by Renee Ryan

How exciting to have Logan Mitchell, the hero from THE LAWMAN CLAIMS HIS BRIDE, an April release from Love Inspired Historical with us today.

1. Tell me the most interesting thing about you.

I've waited five long years to be with the woman I love, Megan Goodwin. We met when she was only seventeen. I was twenty-three. Everyone told me she was too young for me, and that I wasn't stable enough to support a wife. They had a point, about the stability part at least. So I set out to make a name for myself in law enforement. I had to leave town to do it. I've been in San Francisco for four years. As a result, I'm no longer someone else's deputy. I'm a U.S. Marshal in my own right. I'm heading back to Denver to take over for the former marshal, now the town sheriff. You might remember him. Trey Scott. He was the hero in Ms. Ryan's first book, THE MARSHAL TAKES A BRIDE. I was his deputy. I've waited long enough to be with Megan. It's time I claim my bride.

2. What do you do for fun?

There isn't much time for fun. My job requires long hours in the saddle. When I do find the time, I write to Megan. And sometimes to my family. But mostly Megan.

3. What do you put off doing because you dread it?
I dread writing to Megan any specifics about my family. It's not that I'm ashamed of my folks. I love them, honor them, and am incredibly proud of them. Same goes for most of my siblings, there's seven of us altogether. But there's a dark secret hovering over my family name. It's something I don't want Megan to know about. I find it easiest not to write about any of my family, so as to avoid telling her about...

What's the next question?

4. What are you afraid of most in life?
I fear that bad blood runs in my family, as well as in my own veins. But that's all I'm going to say on the matter. Next question.

5. What do you want out of life?
A family with Megan. It's all I've ever wanted since the moment I first laid eyes on her. I've been told that a romance novel can't be written about two people already in love by page one. Well, that's something Ms. Ryan had to tackle in this book because my love for Megan is non-negotiable, a deal-breaker. Ms. Ryan knew better than to argue with me on this point.

6. What is the most important thing to you?

Megan. I thought I'd made that clear by now. She's all that matters to me in this life. Well, all right, not all. I also feel it's important to honor the Lord in everything I do. I try to live a godly, obedient life. My father says I have a strong need to be my own savior, as well as everyone else's. Not sure I understand what he means by that. Ms. Ryan claims I'll get it by the end of my book. We'll see...

7. Do you read books? If so, what is your favorite type of book?

I don't have time to read, or the ability to carry books with me even if I wanted to try. I'm in the saddle most of the day, either transporting outlaws or hunting them down. When I'm not on the trail I'm setting trial dates and ensuring they come to pass. I study the law, a bit, but only the specifics that pertain to my job.

8.. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I don't know how to answer that. I'm not a man prone to introspection. Maybe you should ask Megan that question. If she has an answer, let me know. I'll want to fix whatever it is she doesn't like about me as soon as possible.

9. Do you have a pet? If so, what is it and why that pet?

I can't keep a pet right now, for the same reasons I don't read. But my family owns a ranch ten miles north of Denver. We have cow dogs, some of the best in the business. Do they qualify?

10. If you could travel back in time, where would you go and why?

As long as Megan is by my side, I'm happy right where I am. What can I say? I'm a single-minded man with a clearly defined goal.

Judy Sometimes I wish I had room for all the books I read instead of passing them on. I am having a foggy memory on the first book :-(. That is why I try to write my reviews better these days, so I can remember what I read.

Definitely on my list to read
