Same here, I'm about 300 pages into it. I'm loving it so far.

Hannah (hannahi) | 14 comments I just finished Dark Road to Darjeeling (Lady Julia, #4) by Deanna Raybourn . Now I'd like to read something lighter to cleanse my palate. I was disappointed at the ending of the book and the total body count.

Yikes! Sounds like it's going to pick up with the killing. I was thinking it was going rather slowly.

Well, I think you'll find the mystery is resolved in a way you're not expecting...the way it all played out was just really, really sad to me. Nevertheless, I look forward to starting the e-galley of The Dark Inquiry soon.

Theresa Romain | 420 comments Hmm, glad to know what you all think of Darjeeling. I'm reading the Julia Greys now too. I've finished the first two, and I'm halfway through Silent on the Moor. I think Grave's been my favorite of the three so far. I do love a surprise ending, Hannah, but not a sad one. I hope Raybourn doesn't kill off any of the major characters. (BTW, does that Darjeeling cover remind anyone else of Twilight?)

Those of you reading Jane Eyre (squee!)--have you seen the new movie? I wonder how closely it follows the novel. I've never seen a version that I adored, though the Ciaran Hinds/Samantha Morton version from the 90s is pretty good, just a little too brief.

About to read Vienna Waltz by Teresa Grant and also the new Jodi Thomas.

Mrs.ColinBridgerton | 62 comments I'm reading My One and Only by Kristan Higgins. She is just awesome!
Jane Eyre is fabulous! Thats all I have to say. LOL

Theresa-Did you see the Ruth Wilson/Toby Stephens mini series (Jane Eyre) that is the only version I have liked. The other versions, specially the one with William Hurt, I've hated. IN fact the one with WH turned me off JE for ages, I wouldnt even read the book, and then I saw the Masterpiece theatre one and I fell in love with both the series and the novel.

You are always spot-on! I love the Ruth Wilson/Toby Stephens version of Jane Eyre. Absolutely hated the William Hurt movie. It was terrible. And I'm patiently waiting for my copy of the new Kristan Higgins book to arrive. :)

Ooh, I haven't! Thanks so much for the rec. I'll see if I can get it from my library or Netflix. And I'll be sure NOT to look up the William Hurt version. :) Shy away from the 1944 Orson Welles version, too. I love classic movies in general, but...not that one.

After I finish the Julia Grey series, I'll be catching up on Kristan Higgins. Yay! So far my fav by her is Just One of the Guys--I love a friends-to-lovers story.

Mrs.ColinBridgerton | 62 comments Cindy-Ugh, that version still gives me the shudders. Happy to know I am not alone. ;-) As for patience, I have none lol. I almost tackled my UPS guy when he delivered it cause it took 3 days instead of 2 to be delivered ha ha.

Theresa-I've actually heard really good reviews about the Orson Welles one but I tend to steer clear from really old movies. The acting just seems odd to me. But thanks for the heads up.

And just to whet your appetite http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU0DJF...

I didn't see the Twilight connection until now...aaah, it's everywhere! The proliferation of Twilightesque covers on YA books didn't bother me until one day last summer when I was browsing in Target and I noticed that all the book covers had the same design element.
I'm already about halfway done with The Dark Enquiry and it's shaping up to be a five-star read.

Mrs.ColinBridgerton | 62 comments I finished My One and Only by KH last night, so now I'm re-reading Too Much Temptation by Lori Foster, one of my favorites.

Susan (susaninaz) | 1075 comments Just finished Julie Anne Long's What I Did For a Duke. The last chapter was completely unexpected for me! oh, well, I liked the epilogue.

Now on to Thicker Than Blood, which I downloaded for free onto my Nook.

Irisheyes | 896 comments Just finished NEVER A GENTLEMAN by Eileen Dreyer and I loved it. Diccan and Grace were great together and I totally believed in their HEA. I also read the excerpt for ALWAYS A TEMPTRESS. I can't wait for Kate and Harry's story. Looks like it's gonna be a good one.

Now onto another Cheryl St. John or THE SWEETEST THING by Jill Shalvis.

Susan (susaninaz) | 1075 comments Finished Thicker than Blood. It was a contemporary christian thriller, actually quite good, this author's first published book.
