I so agree with you - it made me cry so much and I fell in love with this book the minute I read it, one of the most moving stories I've read in recent times. I don't remember another book which touched me the way this book did. Like you, The Kite Runner will remain one of my all time favourite books ever, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves reading. It's not to be missed!

A few nights back, my uncle brought me this book by an Afghan writer Khaled Hosseini and said, "Once you read this book, you are going to thank me forever..." .....I do.
As i began to read this book, i have to admit, i hadnt expected much from an Afghan writer except some painful war stories...but as i read even its First page, i couldnt put it down. the kite runner is an epic tale of friendship...that seem to revolve from friendship to betrayal and then to redemption.
A rich boy, Amir, and his loyal servant Hasan, develop a friendship that has no name...Amir betrays Hasan, Hasan just smiles saying, "For you...a thousand times over...Amir Agha" they seperate....years ago when they grow up, Amir gets settled in America and comes back at a call of his dead father's apprentice, thereby giving space for several secrets to unfold....reality is brought forward...friendship is reborn, redemption is desired...but Amir is too late...Hasan is dead! All he can see as a remain of his dead friend is a photograph where Hasan is smiling. Amir plunges into the changed Afghanistan in search of the only part of Hasan stil alive...his son...and the story unfolds with shattering revelations that can even make us cry or shudder where we sit...
Kite Runner remains one of the GREATEST BOOK i have ever read...and will always remain so for every new person who reads it...
