I really like the series, although some parts, the fighting ones specially, are somehow confusing.

yeah I completely agree

ahahhaha, that just made my day. :P

Despite what I said earlier, I actually liked AC and Orion's character was fun to read. But I would have liked it to be longer and the villain, Root, definitely needs some polishing. At the first chance, he just abandoned his whole purpose and I found his reason really flimsy.

yeah! i fell like i've been waiting for it forever:-)

I also agree... =)

omg i know! so infuriating! i liked Opal Deception and Time Paradox the best, and liked Atlantis Complex as well =)

Is that a joke?"
lol i was going to ask the same thing! i say D'Arvit all the time!

yeah! i fell like i've been waiting for it forever:-)"
i know! i agree, i still cant wait! ive waited long enough, Colfer! [i hope he heard that ;)]

and as a side comment, I've been browsing some of the new releases here on goodreads and I gotta say people do not know how or what to write anymore: every second book was either about vampires or werewolves or some other mary sue gary stew crap
I hate the fact that there are more books released revolving around these themes and that people may have actually been inspired by someone like meyer.

it's like pollution to all those OTHER good books out there being ignored from all the PARANORMAL aspect books. I haven't found one vamp or werewolf book that is good, so far.

an example would be the skulduggery pleasant series...I LOVED the first few books but the moment a vampire was introduced I was like oh hell here we go again

too right he is! I wish he was my grand-dad!?
Or is that weird >..<"
nah, it's not weird (i do too) XD
I enjoyed it, but I can understand why most people might not be as interested. Its pacing and goals generally run variant to that of other fantasy works. While most aim to be descriptive and to immerse the reader in the author's world, Artemis Fowl reads more like an action film; quick and to the point, giving only enough description to familiarize the reader with events as they happen. I wouldn't say one style is better than the other, so long as the author isn't being lazy about giving the details that matter most. Still, books tend to be the better format for genuine world building (the author's only limit is his/her vocabulary), so while books like AF are fantastic, I do believe it's important not to limit one's self to firecracker-type fiction.

I've gotten mixed reports on how people like this book. Some people hate it, some people love it, and some people think it's just ok. What did you think?
