Sy (avisualsinsation) | 27 comments I just finished Payback is a Mutha by Wahida Clark and it was a great read to me. I dont know if this is because I have been on hiatus with black lit and it was the first one I picked up or what. I will be starting on the sequel this evening; Payback Wit Your Life. Will keep you posted.

Kellee (dark_angel) The last book I read was The Husband by Dean Koontz. I know it's not Urban Lit, but I didn't really like it. It just took too long to get to the point.

message 113: by Dm (new)

Dm | 24 comments kellee ...i wanted to read the husband but I just couldn't buy it to read for the reason you stated.

message 114: by Terra (new)

Terra | 6 comments The last book I read was We Take This Man by Candice Dow & Daaimah Poole. I read the book in a couple of days. It was a good book, just hate to believe some women are that stupid.

message 115: by Kellee (new)

Kellee (dark_angel) Just finished Double Dippin by Allison Hobbs. I liked the book. It kept me intrigued, however if there was a climax, I completely missed it and I kind of didn't see much of a point. However, it was still a decent book.

message 116: by Sy (new)

Sy (avisualsinsation) | 27 comments I just finished The Devil Ain't No Friend of Mine by J.D. Mason. It was a very quick read. It wasn't full of the usual drama that I enjoy from most of the books I read but it was a nice break. You know one of those books that ties everything up at the end with a big ole bow.

message 117: by Lesa (new)

Lesa Divine | 23 comments I finished Cartier Cartel by Nisa Santigo that was a good book I liked it. I was surpise that I couldn't predict this book and that isn't a bad thing. I liked that I couldn't predict it. It was a great read. :)

Terra | 6 comments I just finished "Unconditionally Single" by Mary B Morrison. The book was really good it leaves you hanging on the end wanting more. There has to be forth book soon. Make sure to read the first two book before reading this one to get idea where the characters came from.

message 120: by Kellee (new)

Kellee (dark_angel) Just finished A bonafide Gold digger by Allison Hobbs and although I feel she is a very talented writer, I did not like this book. 2nd book in a month I read by her and didn't like. No climax and no point.

message 121: by Kellee (new)

Kellee (dark_angel) I just finished My Little Secret by Anna J and it was really good, but the end leaves me thinking there is going to be a sequel...if there isn't, it really should be because I can't imagine the book ending the way it did.

message 122: by Dm (new)

Dm | 24 comments Kellee wrote: "I just finished My Little Secret by Anna J and it was really good, but the end leaves me thinking there is going to be a sequel...if there isn't, it really should be because I can't imagine the boo..."kellee... I just finished reading My little secret a few days ago and i was thinking there has to be a sequel also you know that what these authors r doing to get us to buy their books,It is a good book and fast read,I hadn't read the aftermath but i guess i have to read that to remember what happen with monica and the couple .

message 123: by Kellee (new)

Kellee (dark_angel) Dm wrote: "Kellee wrote: "I just finished My Little Secret by Anna J and it was really good, but the end leaves me thinking there is going to be a sequel...if there isn't, it really should be because I can't ..."

Exactly, since Monica was brought up in My Little Secret, I feel like I have to start all the way from My Woman, His Wife, then go back to The Aftermath and then read My Little Secret all over again because there is obviously going to be a sequel to that one. I am a little tired of the lesbian action, but other than that, the book itself is always good so far.

message 124: by Dm (new)

Dm | 24 comments Yeah the lesbian was a little over the top but that was what the whole story was building up to about monica, we will see the next book probably be about monica and the baby and the other chick(LOL) can't remember her name.

Queen | 3 comments Hi all. I finished this morning God Still Don't Like Ugly by Mary Monroe. It was long winded but it elaborated and helped me remember what happened in God Don't Like Ugly which had way more humor in it. Overall a good read.

I just finished Douple Dippin' by Allison HObbs and here is my review.
Don't let the cover fool you, this book has nothing to do with sexy women and ice cream. Double Dippin' is a straight up TRIP! The story picks up when a set of twins, Shane and Tariq are subjected to life as foster children, after witnessing the death of their Mother. While Shane is described as the handsome boorish twin I found both of them to be equally demented, along with everyone else introduced in this story. While the book is a good read, it lacked climax. The pages of this novel are filled with raunchy, obscene, sickening events that the twins put people through or in Tariq’s case, were subjected to. While I enjoyed Allison's attempt to keep us all intrigued with the lewd events that made up Double Dippin' it was lacking 'something'. The ending was a total shock, and was for sure the best part of the book. This was a slow read for me, and I times I felt guilty for reading it..LOL I give this book a 3.5, and I will pick up part 2 by Allison Hobbs, Big Juicy Lips

Lesa Divine | 23 comments My last book was Snow White I gave it 3 stars and from what it looks like it may be a second part if not then she left us all hanging in the air. It was a ok book but, I am thinking that Anna J just don't do to good with hood books just my thought about that. :) don't get me wrong like all her books I've read but, this book and Get Money Chicks just didn't do so good to me.

Lesa Divine | 23 comments Hey Natalie sorry I am late responding but, other books written by Anna J is Get Money Chicks, My Woman His Wife, The Aftermath and My Little Secret I've read them all.

I am still reading Life haven't been reading much lately and Thursday I am starting Gunz and Roses for my book club group that's the book we will start so have a lot of reading. I was reading Betrayal by Dwayne S Joseph but, decided to put that down and come back to that some other time since I am ready to start Gunz and Roses plus I see that book scored a lot of points and want to see what the talk is all about.
