I finished this one with a minute to spare!!

I have never been a big fan of the romance genre, but this one was ok. I thought it was a bit slow building. There was only one key romance and it took forever until it went somewhere. It was another mediaeval book set in Ireland, and although there were similar qualities (norse invaders, cheiftains, etc) to Hush: An Irish Princess' Tale, I thought this one did not feel like it was set in that time frame when I compared the two.

Totally love Graceling and the sequel. There are so many excellent books and there is so little time for all of them.

First Test is about a young girl in a mythical kingdom who is determined to become a knight. I gave it 3 stars. My review here .

Yes, I've been applying for colleges and taking standardized tests. Since I'm going to be a piano major, I've also been traveling to different schools for auditions.

However, now that I know where I'm going, things are settling down. It's good to have some extra time for reading :)

Yesterday I finished Connie Willis's Doomsday Book. It's time travel set in England in 2055 traveling to the early 1300's and tells the story of what happens there during that time to Kivrin, the traveler. I liked it quite a bit... 4+ stars.

I read most of The Mammoth Book of Arthurian Legends during April but was slightly distracted by the birth of my new little grandson on the 28th. So I did finish it on May 5th!
This book is full of over 40 stories about King Arthur. Some of them are several hundred years old. The language of some of the older stories was difficult to read but others were very enjoyable. I think my favorite was the story, "Sir Marrok the Wolf" about a knight who was bewitched and turned into a wolf. It follows what happens over a number of years while he is a wolf. It was published in a book in 1902.
