Hello everyone and happy April! This month we are reading Evelina by Frances Burney.

Let's also start nominating books for May, or perhaps we could have a catch-up month where each member can read a book from a previous month that they didn't get a chance to read at the time.

Ellen (karenvirginiaflaxman) | 14 comments As I am new to the group, I'd appreciate a month in which I can read a book that the group's already read. Thanks!

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Just finished Evelina (Oxford World's Classics) by Frances Burney Evelina a little late, I'm afraid. It was a reread but since I first read it about 20 years ago it was pretty fresh to me. Burney has a talent for making her male characters either totally sympathetic or so awful you'd cheerfully shove them down the stairs. :-)
