I'm not sure whether deleting cookies etc and restarting did the job or whether posting on google's thread for people with the Follower problem did the job, but either way I can now see them again. Thanks to new followers, I'm now going through and returning them.
If anyone has some time to kill I did a post about negativity towards people who like e-books, would be interested to see what others have to say on the subject. It's the first post at the moment, on www.tc-bookedup.blogspot.com And I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before, in case I haven't my twitter id is @TCBookedUp.
Cambria, just took a peek, werewolves in books aren't quite my thing but pics of cute guys I can go with.

I will most definitely take a peak at your new post! Thanks for sharing. And don't encoursge the Jenn's!! We might end up with a riot on our hands! LOL

Anyway, my fav thing about ebooks is that I can read them on the treadmill and adjust the font larger to read as I run! Its an awesome deal...and my pants fit better for it! LOL

and thanks so much for following the blog! You r awesome!

Loved Hex Hall, but only liked Demon Glass because it didn't draw me in as quickly as Hex Hall even though the action was more intense. I wrote reviews for both, just waiting for them to run on my blog before posting here. I've been only posting one thing a day in hopes of getting ahead. I've almost got July all done :)

I think it fits, spammers being soulmates with Rodents. lmao

If those of us who aren't already Jen's change our names by deed poll in advance of the coup we will be saved?

wel then, you may take over at will. :) I'll be your mascot. LOL

Yes, I have Hex Hall next to me as we speak and I am going to start on it today or tomorrow....I have the radio show tonight so I am not sure how much reading I can get done!! I have heard nothing but awesomeness about it. And FYI Spell Bound the #3 in the series comes out in March I think. :)

Demonglass started off a little slower than Hex Hall but I loved when Sophie's dad announces her link to Cal. I laughed! Great surprise! I'm looking forward to Spell Bound in 2012 I also wrote reviews for the novels. Posted on Goodreads. Haven't posted them on my blog yet.

Cambria? What radio show? Is it on the internet? I'm in Australia and don't know if the waves reach all the way down under unless they are on the net ;p

Let me discuss your request with my fellow Jennians', we will get back with you.

Since you are wanting to align yourself with us, I will follow your blog. But to show good faith, you must follow mine ;)

Everyone knows I am a big Indie supporter but I am having trouble supporting a few even though I do enjoy their books.
Why you ask?
Because these un named few have a pretty good following but they NEVER respond to any questions, reviews etc from fans. Even when they ASK you for it.
This really irks me because uh, hello! You wouldn't be making any money at all without fans to read your work.
I know how hard it is to be an Indie and all the work that you have to do yourself but seriously!
I'm even contemplating not buying anymore of their works.
Am I being too much of a beyotch?

I've been having that problem too but I seem to have found a way around it. Maybe it will work for you. When you sign in, there is a click box that asks if you want to stay logged in. Click that off and then sign in. That seems to work for me. Hopefully it may help you.
I think it may have to do with already being signed into gmail or gtalk. Maybe. But I don't know for sure.

I have it linked up on my blog too. You can go back and listen anytime...tho you are missing a lot of fun in the chat room too ;-)...

Jenn,
Part of being an indie is the recognition that you are doing it all yourself because you are capable, and you don't want to share royalties. In my mind 'indie' means 'package deal'. When you have peices of the package missing then it's not a package. Like an artist that doesn't exhibit, or a athlete that won't sign autographs... the limelite will quickly pass to those willing to offer more.
I understand about being busy; it now takes me about 3-4 hrs minimum a day to answer emails, posts and what not and I'm struggling to find time to continue writing but I feel strongly that if I stop answering messages and doing interviews, that is the end of my success so far. Not worth it, I will find the time I figure... sleep and food are optional ;p
Do what you feel the urge to do. I have someone I agreed to do an interview on for my column for Hypergrid to help their cause, and I'm STILL waiting and now my column is late. Tonight I'm going to scramble and do a different topic, and they will lose out until next month. You can help and support people, but you can't drag them along.
My final note: If you want to support me as an indie author, I promise to always answer your messages, questions and review requests, even if it takes me 4+ hours sitting at my computer to do it all... you don't have to drag me, I'm already at the watering hole waiting ;p
And thanks for being a supporter of indie authors... we need all the support, shares, likes and comments we can get! Woooot for you!

Awesome, thank you! I am definately going to catch the next one... I signed up to be reminded and to follow you, but I'm not sure if that took or not.

That's a really good idea! I actually do blog, and if I didn't I think it would be worse because I 'keep up' with ppl a lot thru my daily posts. Facebook is awesome also. I'm thinking of having regular Q&A chats on my blog (like AF Stewart does here) if it gets unmanageable, and thats when the auto responder could really be useful. I've never used one, do they just delete the message or do you still get it but choose which ones to answer?
Awesome idea :D

Odd though; most of the indies I know love the contact with their readers, so not answering seems a bit short-sighted, and not at all helpful to their rep. Still, takes all sorts, I suppose.
JAC

I still get excited each time I log into Amazon or Smashwords and see that I got more sales lol. I HOPE those new readers shoot me an email! If they do, I can then ask them to leave their kind comments as reviews on those sites.
I can't imagine ever getting to the point where I do not respond to readers. That's just killing your base (and I want a base, damnit! lol).
What author doesn't want to talk about their work? What author doesn't want to answer questions about their stories or characters? "Interest" and "caring" are the highest forms of flattery from readers.
As an author, I promise to ALWAYS respond. Not with a form letter, but with a response. If I ever get big enough for that to become too time consuming then I'll need to manage my time better.
There ARE authors who have "made it" that don't interact well with their fans. It's frustrating to watch. It's like seeing an athlete who has become "too important" to take two seconds to sign a kid's baseball.
Then are are the good ones. John Locke says he STILL answers emails and he is an indie who has sold over a million books. Amazon says that people who buy his books also buy mine...nowhere near the same frequency though lol...so I looked him up. If John Locke can do it, the rest of us can.

Jenn, to save me hunting back what is your blog addy?
Elizabeth, yes, I discovered last time round that it worked, but having cleared the cache it seemed to tick that box again and I forgot until I'd been round in circles a few times!
I've found all the authors I've dealt with have been pretty cooperative, some more proactive than others, but generally haven't had a problem. I agree with the point that as a blogger I struggle to do all the online bits I'd like to, but at least it's not my job. Must be hard to strike a balance between writing and networking/promoting.
