Hey BJ! Thank yaz kindly ma'm *wink* I had no idea what Steampunk was but kept hearing about it and looked up info from it. I really like the idea behind it and the really cool stuff that's made.

Wow, it's a great site. I love the stalker line!

It is too much fun. Seriously. Discovering steampunk made me feel the way I did on my 10th birthday when my Dad gave me

(and the rest of the series) - as if I'd been given the secret key to enter another world.

Her message was "You seem fascinating! Visit my blog INSERT ADDRESS HERE I love staying connected with peeps there!" I didn't include the blog address in case she actually is a member someplace I hang out.
As far as I know she found me solely through Twitter and has never even been to my blog and while you can make the occasional amusing post on Twitter, it doesn't really allow you enough characters for anyone to have any idea of whether you're "fascinating" or not.
The message wasn't something that made me want to go follow her blog, it made me wonder if I needed a restraining order. I'd more expect a message like that from a stalker than from a legitimate blogger trying to gain followers for her blog. I'll admit I looked at the site. She's some indie author but imo she's trying to gain followers in all the wrong ways. After a message like that I think if she contacted me for a review she'd be the first person ever I'd tell I wouldn't review for her. The twitter message seriously creeped me out. I'm fascinating?! I mean it wouldn't bother me if she said a review or a post was fascinating or even an idea, but she doesn't know me from Adam so I really don't like the idea of some random chick I don't know calling me fascinating. And even if she was referring to something in particular I'd be a whole lot more comfortable with a comment on my blog than a direct message on Twitter.
So do you think I'm being paranoid or would a message like that creep you out and do you think it cross a line in an attempt to gain blog followers or am I just being picky?

I find it fascinating! We are besties now, right?!?!
Hehe.

I got this one one time that the guy told me he liked my maturity and would I be interested in getting to know him?? ?????
I usually ignore that stuff and hope it goes away. my husband isn't too thrilled though.
Anyway, i think messages like the one you got go a little too far. She could have worded it different but probably wasn't sure how. I try not to advertise my blog all over just on here and i put my link in one of my reviews on JournalStone the other day, but those are places that I am usually always around so the people are familar with me anyway, you know?
i would never just message someone (or tweet-i don't have twitter) that i didn't know and ask them to follow....but that's just me. :)

Yeah I saw mr.lonely on ur blog.
The email I got was from someone wanting me to reply directly to their email and not here on goodreads where she supposedly found me. Her name could not be found on here. My first thought was ....VIRUS

And i checked out that mr lonley's blog and it was soo strange. he puts pic up of everything he eats it seems like. LOL

I left it in the junk folder and DID NOT click the link.
Everyone should be careful, but most of that stuff is simple spam.

No this chick was reminiscent of a hippie and wanted to send me some of her fab photos. I can only guess what they are.
