Laurel I've only read a few of his/her novellas, but I loved them!

Purple and Black and Blue and Gold were both witty, imaginative, and darkly sarcastic! I recommend them both highly.

The Engineer trilogy was also good, but not really on the same level. Not read any of her others yet, although I thoroughly intend to.

Noel Baker | 366 comments K J Parker is very different stylistically to Abercrombie. I love both of them as authors, Parker's engineer series being excellent. His style is very dry and matter of fact, describing even violent and cataclysmic events in an unemotional and spare way. Parker leaves the hyperbole to others.
