Jesús M. Siqueiros (jmsiqueiros) | 2 comments Hello everybody from BSP, I am very interested in embodied cognition though I feel I lack perspective since I am not very well acquainted with the whole picture of Cognitive Sciences and their different approaches and foundations. I am really looking forward to compensate for this, so, I would like to ask you What would you recommend as a good up-to-date introduction book to Cognitive Science? A book that gives you a glimpse of the variety of approaches (may be from Computational and representational approaches to Embodied Cognition or Enactive perspectives).

Thanks

I don't think I have read or discussed a book that is a true introduction to cognitive science, but I can recommend Memory and the Computational Brain: Why Cognitive Science will Transform Neuroscience by C. R. Gallistel and Adam Philip King, as excellent introduction to how information theory and computation relate to cognitive science. In my interview with Dr. Gallistel (BSP 66), he gave a nice overview of basic fields within cognitive science.
