School project

Has anyone read either When I Was a Soldier, In My Hands: Memories of a Holocaust Rescuer, or The Alchemist and remember if they are clean or not? I have to spend 8 weeks with this book, so I want to make sure it's something I won't have to force myself through regardless of content once I've committed to it.
Any help is much appreciated!

The Alchemist is clean, interesting and thought provoking. Can't comment on the others...
