I don't know. The more I think about it, the more it isn't as appealing. It is so... artificial.

I can relate to Katar. How do you pronounce her name?Way, write your "I'm gonna make Dahlia my Heir" speech for the king!
Katar was one of my favorite characters. She made sense. I just liked her. I'd need to reread the book to complete my thought, but I remember that she was a good character. I'm getting on it!
Katar is interesting, more so than Miri. I did love Miri though! I really did. I just think Katar is less black and white in her thinking. Deeper.
-nodnod- But she and Miri did have a sort of kinship. They both lost their moms and have an inferiority complex.
Exactly. You need to have the differences in opinion and thinking and character to have a good relationship. Same goes for characters, everyone has to have flaws. Without weaknesses in character...they are not fun to read and follow
Exactly. It's just boring. No real challenge for them. Not emotional impact.
Where is Anna from?
Where is Anna from?
A series called The Russians by Judith Pella and Michael Phillips. This is the first one The Crown and the Crucible
No. If you want, I can link you to a review I did of them awhile ago. http://madeofbooks.wordpress.com/2010...

So is Made of Books your Blogish thing? I'd love to follow it.
Thanks for doing such a helpful review. I will take your word for it. They don't sound that great. :D

Yeah. Made of Books is my book blog. Anyone is free to follow it if they want. :) It isn't the best, but hey? I enjoy writing in it.
Yes, she does. I've nothing against Christianity (in face I am a believer.) But I don't have a lot of respect for Christian authors (well, I love C.S Lewis, but that is it...) Especially woman writers who only write romance. All the romances are the same. And you can always guess the end.
i agree with Rae on that. most books\ movies\ tv shows have a guessable ending. good authors are the ones who manage to get their charries into impossible situations and manage to get them out again in a realistic way. [not that they suddenly develop superpowers or something]the amazing authors are the ones who write books that arent predictable, the ones that dare to kill of their main characters but not in a way that the person reading will hate the book. more in the way that you CAN actually be scared that a major side character will die. it adds a lot more to any book.

yes, you have a point.

So true.
So true.
