Favorite type of Vampire?

Definitely not ones that sparkle, I can tell you that. Ones that burn up in the sunlight are better. Haha
I like the magical kind, not the 'infected with a virus' type you see in Blade or I Am Legend.Vampires that hiss drive me crazy, like some angry feline.
I don't know a few of the categories they've listed, but my favourite kind is the hunched, Nosferatu kind. The real deep-evil, deep-killer kind.
I know my least favorite (although I love, love the series) are the ones in the Kate Daniels series.
I like the notion that becoming a vampire doesn't change one's basic nature: a human SOB will likely still an SOB as a vampire, while a good, honorable human will retain his/her goodness and honor as a vampire. That's why I enjoy Lynsay Sands Argeneau books as well as Kerrelyn Sparks Love at Stake books.
My favorite vamps are the ones who love to drink blood but don't kill. They're suave and old and built like a gladiator. Eric from true blood is a really good one. That's who I voted for.
Neither the Dark Hunters nor the Breed Warriors are listed and those are the only ones I've read. Boy, I've got a lot of catching up to do.
My favourite vampire is Lestat by Anne Rice. He is so mysterious and un-human, I love it.I hate the sparkly human kind. Vampires should be different and preferably a bit evil.
I like the kinds that are like humans in the sense that some are good and some are bad. Vampires should be tough and not afraid to fuck someone up if that person deserves it.
I prefer vamps who feed but don't kill. From a purely practical standpoint, can you imagine all the bloodless bodies piling up? That's a secret no vamp could keep. I also think it adds to the whole "vampire mystique" if they are able to glamour those they feed from in order to avoid killing them.
I think my favorite vampires are the ones that are soooo bad, but they have a soul so they are tortured... I guess I watched a little too much Buffy and Angel back in the day :)
I'm going with the Anne Rice Vampires. They were uber powerful, yet if you were smart enough, you could kill one.
I enjoy strong alpha types, I don't like effeminate types at all. Intelligent, bad boy type with an edge is nice.
I also enjoy the strong alpha types and especially enjoy it when they claim their mate. For example, emphasis on the word "MINE" during the love scenes or when they growl... gets my blood flowing every time!

I love all vampires. I really don't care if they are bad or good. Soul or no soul. Sparkle in the sun or burn or the kind that has rings that can still walk in the sun with out burning. I do like the Riely Jenson Gaurdian seris. Dampires.
I voted BDB although I am not crazy about them not being able to be in the sun. That was the one thing I liked about the series "The last vampire" is that she was allowed out in the sun, but it made her weak. I also like the idea of Vampires feeding off each other rather than humans for nutrition (BDB as well)
I like the fact that they're alive. Somehow a cold, clammy reanimated corpse that drains the blood from the living kind of loses some romantic potential.

I would have to say that I like vampires who have the capacity for good, as well as being attractive and immortal/has a long life.
I think about this far too much. For me no one gets it quite right. My favourite are Frost's Night Huntress vampires and I LOVE her ghouls. Is it just me that wishes we knew more about them? The transformation ritual is so cool. I had a gigantic Twilight debate with my friend once (we both really liked Twilight but it has so many problems as well) and she said that it doesn't make sense if vampires can walk in the sunlight because, what would stop them from taking over the world from the humans? Plus... he sparkles. I mean, what the f**k...
My ideal vampire would be similar to the Night Huntress vamps but with more damage from the sun. I feel like they aren't vulnerable enough but being completely burned to ashes within seconds is way too vulnerable for me. I think it should make them very weak but not kill them immediately.

I found the Argeneau series so funny and mostly because of issues like that. Ex. at the wedding she finds them in the van & thinks they snuck off to smoke doogies, when they were actually drinking blood. Or Lissiana's birthday party where the shrink is tied up after Marguerite made him get in his own trunk.
I like them with some humanity left. A sun issue, and a different diet. The Argeneau's from Lynsay Sands, Frost's Night Huntress vampires, Mercedes Thompson's vampires. They have to have the "animal" in them yet still have some human quirks left. The sparkle ones don't cut it. Even though I liked the Twilight series, that aspect was kind of dumb. Vampires should be dark, dangerous, and lethal, yet alluring. The concept of bad as a human and thus bad as a vampire (or good) applies.

Though I do love my sparkly EC as well.
Pasty white is not all acceptable to me. I want my vampires (if we're talking males here) to look human with a few exceptions of fangs and glowing rare eye colors. Big. Towering. Muscularly built.I want a vampire just like Rhage or Vishous from the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Either one is fine. Both? Heaven. The BDB vampires are like the epitome of vampires.
I personaly like all vampire except the ones that are ugly and really demonic looking.I especially like the ones that are almost human and are actually killable by humans and the ones that can almost bare the glare of the sun.(Mind you they don't HAVE to sparkle though)
Sylvie wrote: "I like the notion that becoming a vampire doesn't change one's basic nature: a human SOB will likely still an SOB as a vampire, while a good, honorable human will retain his/her goodness and honor ..."Love the Argeneau vampires. They try to pass for human, and are so funny trying that.

Adesewa wrote: "I personaly like all vampire except the ones that are ugly and really demonic looking.I especially like the ones that are almost human and are actually killable by humans and the ones that can almo..."How about the bad vampire that attacks (Patricia Briggs) Mercy's trailer & tears it apart, and scapes his teeth down her window. He was creepy and wacko. Perfect bad vampire.
