Who was the potential favorite author?

Mary Doria Russell. What I read was sci-fi, and then I discovered she also writes HF. She has a brand new book out, set in the old west with Doc Holliday as a main character. As soon as a copy is returned to my library, it's mine (for two weeks!)!
