e-reader?

I've seen a lot of free ebook in epub. That's the main reason why I consider Nook.
I'm thinking too about the new Nook with glow light. Gossshhhh so tempting!!!! I must give him a hint when he's coming back :D

Goldflower86,
My husband bought ereader from here : http://www.ipmart.com/main/browse/Tab...
No worries, no tax and a great service deliver to your door :-)

nisha, i am liking your nook cover btw, did you buy it at ipmart also?

i found this one guy from low yat forum selling nook at RM 415 and the nook glow reader at rm 555. this is the cheapest that I found.
he got good review of his service, and can COD at any lrt station
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2179270...

No, I asked US seller (http://jualanmega.wordpress.com/) to buy from Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_nos...

i found this one guy ..."
Nook Glow eBook Reader RM 555.. WOW!
But B&N will release the product in 1st May
ohhh I just saw his comment ' is available for Pre-Order for Rm 555'

Sorry, I'm so at infancy stage :P"
I googled and found this

You're welcome dear :-)
Maybe yes, and maybe not. If Amazon drops it's price on Kindle, I could maybe see B&N dropping the Nook price. 'cross finger'

i found this one guy ..."
i sms'd him/her, he/she said with cover will be rm445. i am still thinking whether i should get this or kindle basic.... kindle basic only rm295...cheaper... sigh...

a price for basic e-reader that's very hard to resist :-)

Ummu - I found in youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2UJyx... or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwFni6...
Nouda has Kindle. He's Kindle expert :-)

But if your need is basic, i.e you only want to read comfortably, then it is a darling. As for me I do not stuff all my ebooks into my Kindle. I store them in a pendrive and use Calibre to manage my titles. Only when I want to read a book will I download it to my Kindle. I find it easier and more manageable this way.
Yes, Kindle can read books other than Amazon's but if you buy from Amazon, the ebook can only be read with your Kindle. This is because the books are DRM protected. This will prove to be no problem however if you download software to remove the DRM.

i got the link from the forumer here too, thanks for the source... i think its ok for reading, even better than kindle touch, because kindle touch kind of lag from what i saw in youtube review... kindle basic is already ok la if only want to read.
kindle touch from that link is only rm375...
nook will be rm415 without cover... i am thinking between nook simple touch and kindle basic ... :?

The Glow e-readers look really awesome. I might consider upgrading once their prices come down a bit. Or maybe I should just wait for the color e-Ink readers that'll come out next year...I wonder how'd they affect battery life? The only reason the e-reader batteries last so long is because they don't use the battery AT ALL unless you're turning pages or using the extra functions (mp3/wifi/surfing).
Nisha, you bought the Gelaskins for your Nooks? How much lor? I was thinking of getting one for my kindle. =O

It's got a very nice design (far better than kindle and a bit more stylish than the Nook) and...it comes in multiple colors! =D

@ Norain, the 3G is only good if you live in a country where they allow you to buy their ebooks directly (US, UK..etc). For the rest of the world, it's pretty much useless since they only allow you to use it to go to their ebookstore to buy books, not to surf the web with.

Tapi Kindle Keyboard la. Kindle 4, eh, just us it for reading and that is all.

If you're in malaysia, wifi is probably the best choice since you can't use the 3G anyway since the kindle doesn't support proxies/vpns which you'd need to buy ebook from Amazon. Not sure if B&N allows us to buy ebooks since I've never tried buying from them.

I can't remember around RM84-RM110 including the book cover. A few window shopping for suggestions : http://www.decalgirl.com/category.vie... http://www.gelaskins.com/ (they ship to MAS) http://www.skinit.com/
Have fun :D

You need to have US address if you want to buy from there. I tried once but I failed to remove the DRM. It's hassle and I prefer buy from Smashwords, Allromanceebook, Booksonboard and Kobo (using my US address). I download in my pc, remove the DRM thingy and copy paste to my Nook.

i think i will buy kindle 4, the cheapest one, though nook simple touch hold my heart.
no money la want to spend. sobs!

yeah the *coughpiratingcough* make my smartphone have almost 3gb of books. i think i have addiction of downloading maybe because well... i cant really read that much anytime soon >.>

I bought the rm295+10 kindle from the singapore dude on 12/4 and gonna get it by 23/4, I think. The dude 'forgot' to ship it 5 days after I pay it.. thats why I'm still waiting. If you need it fast (like a day after delivery) and could spend a bit, rm360 is the average in lowyat but personally, I would skip that (add a couple ringgit and you get Kindle Touch) and head straight to Nook Touch (near same price with Touch and no ads).
Honestly, I'm still annoyed with the guy and singpost.. but PosMy is wonderful to me since yesterday so I'm happy now since I know the thing is nearby (I love PosMY tracker) and not "lost" in the thin air or something (4 days from Sg... aih)
I'm cheap.. thats why I opted for cheapest Kindle from cheapest seller. I'll wait for Kindle touch v2 later next year or so (sounds like they're making Kindle glow in the dark) I have no real reason to get expensive e-readers and I dont really think the lack of keyboard will bother me since I use Samsung E1080F which are the same thing anyway. I dont have any patience for audiobooks and text-to-speech so having them in a bookreader isn't necessary (you could put audiobooks in an iPod and read the book from there too). Both Amazon and B&N don't cater Malaysians but if you have a laptop/desktop, I don't really see it as an inconvenient if you could get gift cards from LYN.
Once my Kindle 4 arrived, I'm getting a lightwedge and some rm20-30 kindle cover and I'm good.

hi, i want to ask, how the kindle. no complain so far?
and where did you get the mobi file book? or you purchase most of the book?
edit: sorry ... i didnt read properly, when your kindle arrive, let me know how its fare.. thank you

The 3G works even in Malaysia. I bought my Kindle Keyboard last year and went home for summer holiday, and while at my kampung I purchased some books. Yeah, the 3G worked just fine for Amazon store and Wikipedia but very slow if you use Google. Anyway, since I was able to purchase because I used my bank account in Australia, I guess the 3G will not be much use once I go home for good.

You could get ebooks from E-Sentral, MPH or Maxis or free ones from Netgalley. These days, I purchase more physical books instead of ebooks (since I could get them in either ways from some american friends).

And where can I get the leather cover as cool as yours??
TQ!!

Got it from here : http://www.decalgirl.com/category.vie... http://www.gelaskins.com/ (they ship to MAS) http://www.skinit.com/
Or
Ask seller (http://jualanmega.wordpress.com/) to buy from Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_nos...
Btw, Misha was my grandmother's name :-)

will you buy nook from the lowyat seller? how much the price?

The Nook's battery life is about double the Kindle's =P

See why Nook is better than Kindle
Memang makan dalam oh. LOL.

Random change of topic. I remember seeing these book lights at MPH @ RM20. I wonder if I can clip them on my Kindle? They look just like this thing:
http://www.amazon.com/Verso-Clip-On-R...
It's a lot cheaper than buying a dedicated book light from Amazon.

Bloody hell. That is fricking awesome and looks nothing like their ads. You guys might wanna wait if you're looking to buy a Touch (Nook or Kindle).

nisha, you are using nook right? i think it is much better than amazon because nook can read epub. i can't maintain the hassle of converting a file to mobi or azw file if using kindle.
BTW, my husband bought a samsung galaxy tab last 2 weeks. I am liking the feeling that i can read pdf crystal clear on it, because of the screen size at 10 inch. but still, the new nook with glow light seems interesting
