I am all for paperback. I do have a macbook pro, and they have the mac app store out for it, and there's a free kindle app on there, so I had to check out some eBooks that were cheap and sounded good to try it out. I was so glad I did. That's where I learned of Amanda Hocking. It's also very convenient when I'm going to school. I have my books with me and don't have to worry about my hardcover copies getting damaged in my bag. My little sister prefers paperback which I think is a little odd (not to be offensive since there's really nothing wrong with this). I love hardcover, and only buy it, unless it's only offered in paperback.
I do not preference for either hardback or paperback for reading purposes. However, I like paperback because they are cheaper. And I like hardback because the look better in the bookcase.
Hardcovers are usually my go-to format. I read paperbacks occasionally, but worry about them getting bent in my bag. I have a Kobo, and I use it when I am travelling.
