Yeah, but with Eragon watching, that just seems too cruel... Maybe you're right, but I don't know either...

I don't know I think CP could go either way with it.He's like soooo good at giving little sneak peeks of parts of chapters where there will be tons of speculation on what happens.

I thought that teaser was extremely cruel and I'm even more anxious now. Is it November 8th yet?
I know!!! It just makes me want to read the last book even MORE!!! Soooo unfair to make us wait!!!I'm going to re-read the first 3 books and see if I can discern any clues about the fourth one. CP has said that he left little hints for figuring out some plot points of the last book :)
CP was at a book discussion/signing event at the Apple Store in SoHo NYC and he revealed a few things about the final book and the series as a whole.If you haven't read the notes go to http://shurtugal.com/2011/05/25/paoli... to read them!!!
One of the main things he said was “I have carefully laid the groundwork in this series for at least two other [Inheritance] books.” I think we should all go re-read the books and see if we can find any of these "clues". Who's with me? :)
Also, he said “I killed a couple of characters – sorry!” so maybe Roran does die? I don't know but I have a feeling there will be some tears from fans :'(
Also, just a little side note...Christopher will be honored with a Guinness Book of World Records award for best selling youngest author of all time!

Wow! I just read the article and I have to say its crazy how CP just teased us like this! I think some of u guys r right... CP will kill ppl off like he said but I doubt he would read a piece of it as a tease. I agree with Brittany, he like to give us some words that will leave us debating. If he did kill off Roran it will be out of no where... Like u have to read the passage 2 or 3 times to really believe it just happened lol. U know u guys know what I'm talking about! Just like JK Rowling did!
maybe its eragon's or katrina's dream that he showed us...or maybe hes lying about it being the 1st chapter and it comes after king cat. I just think a wall falling on Roran would be a really lame way for Roran to go...
ahh that tease is horrible....I dont know how you guys can stand debating this book here....I just want to completely forget it exists until the beginning of Nov lol....i have it setup so i am following i think i will have to cancel it so I can hopefully forget it till Nov lol
I don't think CP would kill Roran off that early in the book, and definitely not by having a collapsing wall fall on him.I do think that Eragon will save him with magic, or Roran will finally be able to use magic and save himself.

I think there will be some major character deaths as CP has hinted already.He also said after writing a few specific deaths of characters he did cry so...
No I meant like after that in the rest of the book. I know he doesn't die in the first chapter cuz he is in the fourth one. But I meant he could possibly die at some point in the rest of the book.
Roran's such a great character if he dies I will definitely cry and throw the book across the room :'(
I love Roran too, but I just have a feeling he's one of the characters who CP kills off.

i don't think he would kill roran bcuz he has a family and is finally (somewhat) happy. it would be too mean for cp to do that
I don't know...I mean it would be cruel but it's possible he could kill off Roran.I mean some of the best books involve the author writing out a few main characters. It makes the story more real when it's not a happily ever after ending with everyone surviving and thriving. It makes it more emotional and real.
