L.A. Hilden (lahilden) | 44 comments Since my book, A Necessary Heir was released last year, I've gained some reviews, which have been quite good and have made me very happy. Nevertheless, I realize that some readers aren't aware there are sex scenes in my historical romances, which got me thinking...should I put some kind of heat index on the back of my books? Love to hear your thoughts?

Amanda M. Lyons (amandamlyons) You could but I don't think its strictly necessary. Many people are aware that romances of all sorts have at least a few sex scenes in them.

L.A. Hilden (lahilden) | 44 comments I agree Amanda. Reading is so subjective. What is a right amount of detail for some, may be too much detail for another. I guess the key is marketing, and finding readers who read books similar to mine. Thanks for your comment.

Tina Foster | 18 comments A friend of mine who has published 5 historical romances through Zebra Books, sometimes puts in small letters at the bottom of her flyer or bookmarks: Explicitly sensual.

This could be also put on the back of a book cover underneath the story blurb.

Sometimes this helps a reader to decide, if they like sex scenes in their romance, to give it a try. If not, they can put it back on the shelf.
