Gwenn Wright (mrsgwright) | 4 comments There is such a thing as writer's block....it's an all-encompassing term for the fear of the blank page, the resulting procrastination because of the fear of the blank page and the knowledge that once you get started there is SO much flippin' work to do and that if you don't finish and finish well it was all just a waste of time....it's an emotional block and the only way to get through is to just accept that you're going to write a lot of trash first and have to scrap it and start over but eventually you'll get your story to where you want it to be.

1. Write something. Anything. A short story, a novel, whatever, just start writing something. It doesn't matter if it's bad, it can always be fixed up later.

2. Have a shower. I swear it helps, lol.

3. Go for a walk/fresh air, ect ...

4.Read a book, movie or watch a TV show that inspires you.

5. Same goes with music.

6. Disconnect the Internet while you write, that way, you won't be as easily distracted.

7. Sometimes outlining/planning helps. Even if it is just in your head.

Meh. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
