I just ordered a few samples from the Mad Tea Party collection, as well as Frumious Bandersnatch & one called Perversion... love them! I’ll let you know how the samples are :)

Helena | 1056 comments The super-moon was very bright here, but it didn’t seem that much brighter than any clear night with a full moon.

I did two things though, that I swore I would never do: 1. I went to a jewelry party. 2. I ordered jewelry at the jewelry party.

Effects of the super-moon?

Marla Singer went missing for six hours. I blamed the supermoon.

message 54: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I see the moon, the moon sees me, down though the leaves of the old old tree. Please let the light that shines on me, shine on the one I love.

Phil was having a bad day, Lizzy...

Wait, I thought Lizzy was an adult with two kids. Where did she go, anyway? Her comment has been disappeared.

Day 2 of not being able to see any supermoon. I have to be satisfied with pictures off Yahoo, I guess.

Lizzy | 129 comments Sorry my bad i was cleaning out my profile and so i started deleting all my little update things and the comments were in there so they kinda wwent down with the rest of the stuff i deleted.

I want to pluck that moon out of the picture and put it in my pocket...so pretty!

I remember driving through Delaware once as the moon was coming up on the horizon and it was so huge, it was freaky. Reddish orange, too. Biggest moon I ever saw. Looked a lot like this:

which is actually a picture from yesterday in D.C.

message 61: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart I took a peek at supermoon yesterday...and it looked like a regular moon.

message 62: by [deleted user] (new)

I no longer believe the moon exists. It's been cloudy for 40 days and 40 nights.

message 63: by Lizzy (last edited Mar 20, 2011 06:16PM) (new)

Lizzy | 129 comments I'm sorry you lost faith in the moon, Gail. But if you go to the beach and you see tides that means the moon is still there because tides are caused by the gavitational pull of the moon as it revolves around the Earth. This is because the watter will pull towards the moon meaning as the moon is on the opposite side of the Earth it will be high tide and the other way around for low tides.

Gail is NOT 6 years old, Lizzy."

I didn't say she was 6, it wasn't even implied, did it come off like i was saying she was six?

message 66: by Brittomart (last edited Mar 20, 2011 06:37PM) (new)

Brittomart Haha. No, Lizzy, but it's a small bit patronizing. I mean, of course she knows the moon didn't fall out of the sky, honey.

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Relax Lizzy, I thought your response was funny.

message 68: by [deleted user] (new)

and educational!

You did kick out a very annoying pre-teen who was masquerading as a teenager until she said something that revealed her age and that she was lying about it. She was young enough that she shouldn't have been on GR at all, and certainly not with a public profile. If I remember.

A friend and I went looking for the supermoon. We found a lovely full moon, but it wasn't any more spectacular than any other full moon. I like the moon in general. In any case, Bo was happy for the extra walk.

NOOOOOOO! That means i sound like a teacher! (If anyone is a teacher, i'm sorry) I'm to young to become a teacher! I haven't even jumped off a bridge just because my friends were doing it yet!

message 76: by Hanna (new)

Hanna (ohanners) | 202 comments Was that what it was? (I don't watch the news y'all). I saw it on my way home from work and by the time I went inside the house and back to get my camera, it was teeny-weeny-far-far-away again.

Super cool.

Lizzy | 129 comments So the aliens are finally coming to take me home, i was beginning to worry that they had forgotten about me. . .

Beaver full moon tonight, smallest of year

Tonight’s full moon coincides with the most distant point in its orbit known as the apogee, which will make it appear smaller and duller than the typical full moon.

The U.S. Naval Observatory’s Geoff Chester offers the reasoning behind the name: “[The] name comes from Native American skylore reminding trappers to set their final traps for the season before the beaver ponds freeze up for the winter,” Chester writes.

Dude, this full moon is driving me BATTY. I did not sleep AT ALL last night.

message 80: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I slept off and on. But when I did sleep it was deep, with vivid dreams.

Same here! I wonder if it had anything to do with the beaver moon.

Felarry, my mom used to LOVE that album when I was tiny. Huh. Guess I'm not as clever as I thought.

Plus, youTube no longer works on my stupid laptop.

message 86: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments My sister works labor & delivery. Last night there were 14 babies born in a 12-hour period.

Apparently the moon affects more than just the tides.

message 87: by Félix (new)

Babies being born or the making of babies?

message 89: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments I'd say the birthing, because that's the only part of the equation my sister currently works with. The making would have been in February. Was it especially cold in SoCal last February?

message 90: by [deleted user] (new)

Photobucket

The Mr. took that pic off our back porch with our telescope and my camera that hooks up to it. :)

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

He's a clever Mr.

message 93: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Wow! I bet his cleverness has to do with his given name.

message 94: by Susan (new)

I keep nagging for a good one of Saturn. He says that's a lot harder as it's a LOT further away. Blah blah blah, PICTURE! I'm not demanding or anything.
