Ivonne | 11 comments I did not know that I would find fellow addicts here (or anywhere in the US)- people seem so organized and able to part with "stuff". Problem is: books are not "stuff" to me, but friends! When we moved here from Europe I was only allowed to bring around 1000 books .. of course, this was a few years ago and I have added to the pile. I have a so called "library"- in my house, unfortunately the kids push into the sacred space with their toys...
My oldest one is already an addict, too, at the age of 13. He found a book that is 100 years old and was so in awe ... he needed to have it. (Job well done, mom ;))

I also have a Nook now and I love it, although I said I would never have one. I just love gadgets, I really do. Also: I have the books on there that are too embarrassing to have in my library -- a girl needs some light reading once in a while. ;)

Glad I found kindred spirits! :)

Louise | 280 comments Hello Ivonne

Nice to meet you :-)
Where did you live in Europe?
My 4 year old daughter loves her picturebook collection and "reads" for ½ hour every night, I'm so proud of her for that.
Yes, light reading is great once in a while. I've never quite understod how some people can read one specific genre only...

Ivonne | 11 comments Nice to meet you, too. We lived in Austria. I have a 4y old daughter as well but I'm not sure she'll love books as much (be strong, my bleeding heart ;)). She can already read by herself a little bit but will only read and listen to books that interest her and she needs princesses in every story... I hope that will change. ;)

Neko Welcome :D!

I guess owning a Nook will now allow you to collect less tangible books in some respects so then no-one can complain when you slip in some books into your lib :D
