Questions about The DR Challenge?
I think 37 needs a slight change. It might be difficult to find 11 new authors in one genre. I propose changing it to "Read 11 novels from your TWO favourite genres"
I agree with Crusader, finding 11 novels from one genre is difficult enough, but now it has to be authors you havent read before? Thats a bit harsh
Well it was going to be authors you haven't read before regardless. The only change is that it can now be from new authors from your TWO favorite genres.
I really don't think reading 11 novels from a specific genre would be difficult at all.

So do you want us to read 22 books in all?
No, its 11 new authors in total from your two favourite genres. You can decide how many from each genre as long as you read 11 in total e.g. you might read 5 sci-fi authors and 6 fantasy authors.
Ok, thats fine with me then... I think they should change it to this :)
Oke. Because you know me any reason to read a book. And I am more or less planning on the 33 option since that would be the easier one for me believe it or not. For the 11 books of authors I haven't read before I have to buy a lot of books and I have already bought books for other tasks and I am not really allowed to buy new books, because of my read 10 buy 1 book rule.
Hey Niecole, Thanks for the suggestion, but I found a book written by a dutch author in dutch and I have never read anything by her. I beleive I send you a small book to you written by her. Her name is Marion Pauw and I like that I get to read a dutch book for this challenge. I normally don't read that many dutch books which is weird because we do have great literature but that's just the way it is. I also found a dutch author for the continents task. I am going to read crime/mystery books. Something I don't read that much and this gives me a good chance to read this genre. And for Europe I also picked a dutch author which is highly popular and his books are even made into a series that my mum loved watching and I have never read one of his books and now I have a reason.
I agree with that you should post the autograph but can someone please explain me how to do it?
I am feeling very stupid right now :( but I can't seem to figure it out and everyone is asking about me showing photo's when I am back from Vienna and I haven't a clue how to do that and I got the tip to make an online photo album and post the link but I don't even know how and where to do that and that won't work here either. I also need it for the bookcase discussion.
Please help me!!!! :)

I suggest you go to photobucket.com
On there you create a account
And you can load pictures on there
Its very easy, big green banner that says upload now
Then when it is on you click on a pic and say share
click link codes
and then you have a list of different types of links
the "html" one works on goodreads. (It starts with so you just post that code in a post and the pic will show up :)
Let me know if I can explain to anyone in more detail :)

Lu, with the monthly letter, could you mention some of the rules have been updated and give a link to see the rules?"
Will try and remember :)

I just wanted to say you should ask Lu :)
Task 30.
Should all the books be from one genre?
I'm finding it a bit hard to find books from all the same genre

Since I was the one who nominated that task I say yes!
For what genre are you looking? Ok I retyped that sentence several times now in several ways and it still doesn't makes sense to me. Anyhow what genre would you like to read for this task. It took me maybe 10 minutes to find 6 crime authors of the different continents. I just googled asian crime authors. When that didn't work as well with for example South America I picked a country and found lists and websites and all kinds of stuff. Let me know what genre you want to read and I will see if I can find some authors and books for you.

UPDATE
I just got of the phone with Lauren, and she informed me that:
7. Read a book that was nominated for an award/awards but never won (came in second :D)
It is supposed to be book that has NEVER won an ANY award EVER. It HAS to have been nominated tho

Hey Barbara
Ok, so maybe I just dont know how to search :)
I'm looking for any genre... historical fiction, crime, YA.
I just want to find books that I'll be able to find easily.

Thanks Lauren...
I think I'm making things harder for myself than they already are :)
Ok so random questions quick, which movie should I see tomorrow... The Kings Speech or I am Number Four?
I'm reading I am Number Four all morning and I really like it but you all know I'm a sucker for Royalty

I Am Number Four was what I expected - lame but with some cool action and a bit of eye candy. Not really my type of movie though; I only watched it because a friend wanted to.
Mmmmm.... I know I'll love the Kings Speech.
But I've been wanting to watch I am Number Four ever since it came out. I'm not sure at all! Oh goodness.

Thanks Lauren :)
Also, The Kings Speech is showing in the town I'm living in and I am Number Four is in another town :)

Oh good! Ok, I'm leaning towards The Kings Speech now :), thanks Kahlan. I know I'll enjoy it if you did, you like Historical Fiction too dont you?
Ok what in the world are we now doing with:
14. A title with 3 or more words, each starting with consecutive letters of the alphabet. For example: A Boat Can Drift Everywhere

I dont know where such books are...

That should count, yes.
Can someone verify my 12,086 ratings? It's cached 30 Mar 2011.
Click click
Just hover over the Dexter book and the rating will pop up.

And we can modify 3 to say you can read non-fiction on the book in step 1 or in step 2. There should be a lot more options then.
But if everyone is fine with it as is we can just leave it.
Hey Lauren I am fine with 27 I am even planning on reading your suggestion with the canterbury tales. I have that one lying around so I just have to find Hyperion and a book about the Canterbury tales which shouldn't be too hard.
Niecole: I send you an email with lots of suggestions about your continents problem. I didn't post it here because it was quite a lot of information and a lot of text.

Update nr 14: Read any title with 3 or more words that are in alphabetical order eg. Crooked Little Vein by Warren Ellis. It doesn't have to be in consecutive order.
I just want to check something. If I want to read a trilogy and one of the books in the trilogy has a title with 10 letters I'm not allowed to use the book for both the trilogy and 10 letter title task right?
Lauren wrote: "Yes, that's right. Not sure whether to add a smiley or a sad face here..."
It just makes it a bit more difficult to plan your reads, but it's nothing major.
Would a novella count for #27? Carmilla sounds more interesting than Dracula.

Well wouldn't most later vampire novels be based on Carmilla? I'm thinking of Salem's Lot or The Passage. Already finished a non-fiction novel about the vampire myth and Carmilla was referenced almost as much, if not more, than Dracula.
Don't all books have to comply with the normal rules of 150 pages or more unless stated like were you have to read books with more than 333 pages? Or are there exceptions to this rule in this challenge?

From what I remember of Salem's Lot it definitely isn't based on Carmilla.
