Throughout this play, this question has boggled my mind. Despite the fact that Claudius was responsible for the first offense by murdering the late King Hamlet, does that justify all that Hamlet did, which ultimately led up to the death of everyone in the royal family?
Essentially, is Hamlet good for following up on Claudius's crime and killing Claudius, by any means necessary, or is he evil for destabilizing Denmark and killing many people in his tunnel vision as he aimed to kill Claudius?
