Charles Weinblatt (charles_weinblatt) | 26 comments I wrote "Jacob's Courage: A Holocaust Love Story" because many members of my family perished in Nazi concentration camps. I believe that the Holocaust was the most evil, despicable genocide in human history. While there have been and currently are many other horrific genocides, the Holocaust stands as the only continent-wide extermination of one religious group in history. Six million Jews (along with millions more "undesirables") were murdered; families, innocent women and children were destroyed only because they were Jews. Many young people today know little about the Holocaust, beyond the sanitized historical matrix added to 20th century history courses. If my book enables just one person to better understand the pure horror of the Holocaust, then my effort has been worthwhile. "Jacob's Courage" is dedicated to the six million innocent Jews who perished at the hands of Nazi Germany, and to the hope that future genocides can be avoided through teaching and reading of the Holocaust.
