Terence (spocksbro) | 19 comments I was curious if anyone else in this group has read The Last Ringbearer, the now-translated-from-the-Russian, Mordor-friendly take on Middle Earth, and what they thought of it.

My review is here.

Looking at the extracts you quote in your review, it sounds like a pile of pants! I don't think I'll be bothering.

Elizabeth (elizabethnovak) I have to agree with Micheal. From your review Terence, I don't even wont to waste my time reading it.

Moon | 20 comments I read something about this elsewhere. And I think I'll stick with fanfiction.

Aldean | 17 comments Thanks for the thorough review, Terence. It sounds like something that could have been — maybe — a pretty interesting exercise, but went horribly wrong in the execution. I do wonder how much of that is the translator's fault though. I will probably still read it myself someday, but it definitely won't be anywhere like the top of my list for a long while!

Brandon | 10 comments I have never read it, but it sounds like it could have been very good.
