The Last Ringbearer - Thoughts? Anyone read it yet?

I was curious if anyone else in this group has read The Last Ringbearer, the now-translated-from-the-Russian, Mordor-friendly take on Middle Earth, and what they thought of it.

I read something about this elsewhere. And I think I'll stick with fanfiction.

Thanks for the thorough review, Terence. It sounds like something that could have been — maybe — a pretty interesting exercise, but went horribly wrong in the execution. I do wonder how much of that is the translator's fault though. I will probably still read it myself someday, but it definitely won't be anywhere like the top of my list for a long while!
