I am looking for a book I read around 1990, I think it was kinda "fresh" at that time. I really hope someone can help! It was set in the USA. First in Hollywood where two sisters were portrayed, one was an actress and one a secretary (I think), one of them had two daughters, I think she died and they stayed with the (new?) husband of hers, who treated them badly, so they ran away to New York (not entirely sure), where they lived with the aunt, who had a chocolate shop, one of the nieces became a chocolate cook or how you call them, she was sent to Paris for a year or so to perfect the trade. When the sisters are around 18 they both fall in love with the same guy, the younger sister is an artist I think. I gave the book to a friend as a present but she passed it on meanwhile and we have no idea what the title was... does it ring any bell?
There was a thread here a while back where someone was looking for a book that involved sisters and a chocolate shop. For that poster it was Such Devoted Sisters but there are some other possibilities in the thread.
That's it!! I recognize the names although the plot sounds similar but not quite the way I remember it. I don't remember a Plaza event at all! Thank you so much!
