To the person below me
Humbert Humbert in Lolita. He whines a lot, justifies his actions a lot, and sometimes I felt something akin to pity for him. Which is what an ingenious villain wants. Even now I can think of him only with distaste

when I hit a person hard on the back, mistaking him for my husband (both of us were attending a meeting for college staff, and were sitting apart with our respective departments: the meeting was prolonged, I wanted to go back home to my son, but my husband kept on talking to all and sundry as he usually does) and found to my consternation he is someone else altogether. I had to apologize and moreover see my husband and colleagues laughing at me, and I was ragged for being a husband beater)

To our embarrasment, Chunkey Pandey was standing just besides us occupying his aisle seat adjacent to our row!He who had obviously overheard it couldnt see us eye to eye as much as we cudnt see him, on that awfully long journey of 12 hours!!
Infact everyone on board seemed to have heard it,because they were all kinda giving us odd glances (or maybe we were assuming too much)LOL
