Austin George | 4069 comments Liver. I don't like its taste. I have only a small piece for good health.

Selva | 3391 comments I don't like beans. Don't think you can do anything tasty with that.

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments Going back a little : I font think we can learn the correct form and strokes of swimming on our own. I've seen many self-taught swimmers who believe that swimming is all about keeping oneself a float and reaching from one sude to the other. They basically dog paddle. Swimming is a beautiful sport . I would recommend you to find a teacher .

I can't stand coffee. it just leaves such a bad after taste. I completely and totally avoid it.

TTPBM : the one serously, well acclaimed movie you've "wasted" time on and has baffled you completely.

message 21804: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments I have never filmed myself swimming to see if I am doing it the perfect way. But I can do all the strokes, easiest I found is the backstroke. Besides, I never thought of it as a sport. It was always can I save myself if I drop into water.

I can't imagine how anyone can dislike coffee :) I just love my morning coffee.

I have been disappointed by many movies bcoz I watch a lot of movies. But there is this movie called 'Carnage' by Roman Polanski. It had rave reviews. It is set fully inside a house where two couples who were there to have dinner get into an argument n it gets into a tiresome, never ending fight. I found it to be intolerable. Want to see if I missed the point of it.

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments recently I watched a movie called Midsomer. Good heavens, such a weird movie. its supposed to be a horror-but it just ended up making me so confused to the plot . it was such a pointless movie, I think I just forgot to be scared ? horrified? please don't watch it.

TTPBM : the one kind/good deed someone did to you that to.this day you are grateful for.

message 21806: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments Grateful to a few ppl who kept me company during difficult phases(2-3 yrs) in my life.

Mansi | 386 comments TTPBM WHAT is your favourite mode of travel

message 21809: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments I actually like train travel...sitting by the window, watching the scenary kind of thing but it is marred by certain factors like proper food not being available. And when travelling to the north, sleeper class is like having no reservation at all. Once I went by 2nd AC and it was pleasant. But if I have the money, I would fly.

message 21810: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) I rarely travel, I have no favourites, except by car I think?

TTPBM : Your least favourite mode of travel?

message 21811: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments by long distance hus travel. And nowadays, India also has sleeper buses. The problem is the stops, food, and rest rooms available. Safety is a very large issue.

message 21812: by Luffy Sempai (last edited Apr 07, 2023 08:34PM) (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) Plane. One is high up in the air, and until recently, nobody knew how planes fly. The fact that air travel is supposed to be safer than any other mode of transport somehow makes it more confusing and more scary.

TTPBM : what is the dish/meal you make that gets the most compliment?

message 21813: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments quite a few, actually, since I do all the cooking at home. But I suppose tea, stuffed parthas, dosas, pasta , pakodas ETC

TTPBM : same. And if you don't cook, then why haven't you taken the trouble to learn.

message 21814: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) I can cook. I know how to make pizza, lentil and chickpea soup and other pulses too. But I don't know much, and I cannot whip up something fast.

TTPBM : Is there any actor that you like and whose name you do not know?

message 21815: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments Don't think so. If I like someone, I take the effort to know the name. You just have to google. But sometimes I forget somebody's name only to recall it later. I used to often forget the name of Saurabh Shukla though he is a very well established actor.

TTPBM what is the thing (as a category) do you like as the desktop/mobile wallpaper.

message 21816: by Austin (new)

TTPBM : What language do you want to learn?

message 21819: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments Many actually. Currently learning French, Tagalog and Telugu. I hope I can master them in the next 5 years. I don't want to set unrealistic targets. These languages will be useful for me. Far down the line, I also wish to learn Spanish, Bisaya, Arabic and Urdu. So that's 11 languages including the 4 I already know.

TTPBM: SAME

message 21820: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments I'm not sure I want to learn another language. where will I even use it? probably, I'll pick up the local language when I truly need to.

TTPBM: Good Friday and Easter Sunday are iconic days in Christianity. So what about Saturday? is it an important day? or just another lost in between 2?

message 21821: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments Have no idea:)..I pass this question on.

TTPBM same

message 21822: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments Holy Saturday is also an important day in Christianity but it doesn't get talked about as much as the other important days of the Lent season like Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. In some Christian countries, they get 5 days holidays starting from Maundy Thursday till Monday. Monday is an extra day of holiday. Nothing significant about it.

TTPBM : Have you ever played baseball?

message 21823: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments No. Have watched a game im school.

message 21824: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments Nope. is it even played here in India?

TTPBM: why do people use fake names on social media? are you OK with it?

message 21825: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments I just use my initials on Twitter. I don't post anything controversial, don't troll anybody...Never get into a fight...basically harmless :) But there are ppl who do all that under an anonymous name. So...

TTPBM same

message 21826: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments No, I am not ok with people using fake names on social media because genuine social media users get affected. I saw many people using fake names and fake pics on various social media groups. Many foreigners I met on these groups thought I was using a fake name as well and I had to clarify every time. Not only foreigners, but even North Indians think I am fake because of my name which is unusual in North India.

TTPBM : Have you ever had a grand party on your birthday as an adult?

message 21827: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments No. Max I had is cake cutting at office.

message 21828: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments Firstly, Austen, thank you for the info on Holy Saturday. That was a geniune query put out at home today.
I, too, agree with you. I can not relate with someone who hides behind pseudo names. It's distrustful, too.
It's interesting how you are experiencing so many questions based on your name. Must be so frustrating.

Last year when I visited my brother, he threw a surprise bday party for me and invited all my cousins with their families. It was so unexpected and absolute fun.

TTPBM : same

message 21829: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 386 comments Not a grand one ,but yes once in office all ladies had planned to celebrate everyone's birthday with a lunch treat in a good restaurant . Saturday being a half day ,we used to go directly to the restaurant together and order lunch ,and give a dress to the birthday girl with combined contribution. So was in my case not a party ,just lunch .

TTPBM if you had to give an exam at this stage and age ,how would you feel tell in detail eg. nervous etc ?

message 21830: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments I did my Master's degree only a few years back and I had to give written exams each semester and the correction was very strict. Like they literally read each line and underline things if you got it wrong even for essay type questions. So I used to be nervous and used to feel like a heavy burden lifted once the exams are over. Compared to this, I used to have a very casual attitude to exams when I did my UG. Also, couple of years back I took a certification exam. I was relaxed this time bcoz the cut-off for passing was low. But the format of the exam tested me a bit. Felt relieved afterwards. Got good marks.

message 21831: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments @ Leena, that's an unusual query to be put out at home, or do you happen to be Christian? According to our church calendar, Holy Saturday is not as important as the other aforementioned days but still somewhat important as it's part of the Holy Week.

£ Happens all the time to me Leena. I was mistaken for a Mexican by an American because of my name and brown skin complexion. Another American asked me why I am not a Singh or Patel. An Indonesian asked me why I have a European name. And many Filipinos mistook me to be one of them and started commenting with me in Tagalog. Not to forget North Indians on WhatsApp book groups asking me whether I am an Indian. I am happy to explain to those who are kind and curious and get irritated by those who are rude and plain blockheads.

message 21832: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments I sat for the IELTS exam for Canadian immigration purpose a year ago. I felt a little nervous as I was under pressure to score high bands. For that very purpose I am learning French too now. It helps that I learnt very basic French at high school for 2 years.

TTPBM: Do you prefer WhatsApp or Telegram?

message 21833: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 386 comments I prefer whatsaap but I use both ,my friend circle and other contacts are mainly on whatsapp

@Austin Sir you had explained what ppl mistake u for .But I m curious to know who you are ? And I guess religion is Christian and nationality ? Where do you live.
Sir I'm also learning French ,doing a certificate course. How can I as an Indian appear for IELTS ,and what it's for ? Can you guide.

TTPBM - for drink ,you will prepare coconut water or strawberry milkshake

message 21834: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) If I have a choice I will go for the tastier option though less healthy one, strawberry milkshake.

TTPBM : In your opinion, what is harder, changing your voice to imitate celebs, or ventriloquism?

Mansi, if you want to address me with the appellative 'Sir', I'd much prefer you rather to call me 'Luffy sempai'. Just to keep things authentic :)

message 21836: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments Austen, no, I'm not a Christian. I guess I would have known then.:) Just one of those random queries, and everyone at home thought it was a trick question since no one mentions Saturday.
WISHING YOU A VERY HAPPY EASTER . Collecf lots of chocolate eggs and remember us when eating them.

yup - Strawberry milkshake gir me too.. I love coconut , but nothing beats milkshake. with large helping of ice cream on top. :))
I've never tried changing my voice. But I guess ventriloquism must definitely be harder .

TTPBM : one Fantastic quote you've read recently.

TTPBM : What is more painful, 100 people's headaches, or 1 person's wrist fracture?

message 21840: by Leena (new)

Leena Aluru (mgleena) | 7181 comments That will depend on how closely associated you are with those 100 people and that specific 1 person. It will also depend on those said peoples personalities. Ive 2 sisters constantly dogged by medical issues (seriously massive issues) and a nephew disgnosed with Hodgsons. And they are so accepting of it, so plesant and always smiling.
Contrast that with my aunt whose only ailment is old age and a little kidney issue. She's been out on a diet to prevent further degeneration of kidneys. She's the most unpleasant person and constantly makes it a point to flount to the world at large on how she's been kept hungry by her children. So its a personality case.

TTPBM : Any such ungrateful / uplifting relatives youve got?
