message 21701: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments I am an agnostic. But if I had to follow something, think I will still stick to Hinduism.

Ttpbm: Same?

message 21702: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) It would be either Christianity or Islam, for the dates.

TTPBM : To what level of mathematics are you proficient at?

message 21703: by Yash (new)

Yash (vyash2k) | 809 comments To whichever level I learnt in my first two years of engineering. Borderline average, I guess.

TTPBM, what's the fastest you've ever read a decently lengthy novel? (250 pages min.)

message 21704: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments I read 400 pages of Terminal by Robin Cook on a single day. That was way back during my school days. Nowadays I hardly read 50 pages a day.

TTPBM : Does anybody else in your family read books?

message 21705: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments They all used to. Now they stick to magazines n newspaper.

Ttpbm: How fast do u read? Like in pages/hr?

message 21706: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) I read a page in 1 minute 20 seconds. Someone I know from Mobileread.com reads a page in 35 seconds, and he has a PhD. Another one reads even faster and he has 2 PhDs, but he stopped posting there.

TTPBM : If you had to choose between a hot beverage in summer and a cold drink in winter, which would you choose?

message 21707: by Austin (last edited Jun 22, 2022 09:51PM) (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments I prefer a hot beverage in summer. I drink piping hot tea and coffee even during peak summer as it acts like a stimulant for me.

TTPBM : Where do you order your books online other than Amazon?

message 21708: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) So far just plain Amazon. I never read pulpy or hard sci fi books, so sellers like Baen or Tor aren't what I look for. My physical book providers used to be bookdepository.com, but since they became useless in delivery I stopped buying treeware for now.

TTPBM : what was the last English word that you remember looking in the dictionary.

message 21709: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments Inaugural. I checked it for it's spelling.

TTPBM : Same

message 21710: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) houndstooth - didn't know such a word was valid, came across it in a book.

TTPBM : what do you know about Indira Gandhi?

message 21711: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments I know a lot of things

Ttpbm: what do u think abt billionaires earning a lot of money money through cut throat means and then pledging most of it to charity?

message 21712: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) I think that people who are poor do bad things because they don't have money. And rich people do bad things because they have money. Rich people are a) a minority b) able to do more harm to more people because they are richer

I think billionaires do more harm than good. Stealing from millions to feed a few is the de facto behaviour of a billionaire. Philanthropy in the hands of a rich man is like a razor blade in the hand of a killer.

Sorry about the length of that reply.

TTPBM : Same!

message 21713: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments I don't know abt everyone. But ppl like Warren Buffet n Bill Gates earned their money without cheating anybody. But find it ironic at the same time a good thing that they pledge their money for a good cause. I think with age, even they attain some additional wisdom.

Ttpbm: Does Elon Musk sound like a nut job to you, at least on twitter?

message 21714: by Luffy Sempai (last edited Jun 23, 2022 02:44AM) (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) He is far from being a nut job. Give him 10 more years and he'll change the face of corporate behaviour. But just because I don't go on twitter doesn't mean he doesn't sound like a nut job there.

TTPBM : Songs in Hindi movies, aye or nay?

message 21715: by Selva (new)

Ttpbm: Same?

message 21718: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) Gave the first 2 books in the Lyndon Johnson series 5 stars. Tried to read John Adams but hated the beginning and DNFed it. Have a nice pile of nonfiction waiting for me to read from.

TTPBM : what food do you think is a superfood for healing?

message 21719: by REENA (new)

TTPBM: Same?

message 21720: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) My personal belief is that there is no superfood nor bad food, except for sugar... which I consider a very addictive item.

TTPBM : what TV production you like more, Korean or Japanese?

message 21721: by REENA (new)

REENA | 11 comments Umm.. I like both. Although I've watched way more K-Dramas

TTPBM: What's your favorite Korean Drama?

message 21722: by Luffy Sempai (new)

TTPBM : Same.

message 21723: by REENA (new)

REENA | 11 comments Luffy wrote: "Never watched even 1. My favourite anime is One Piece, or Cowboy Bebop.

TTPBM : Same."

You need to watch "It's Okay to Not Be Okay" and "Hotel Del Luna". Both amazing.

message 21724: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) I will. Thanks. Hope you ask a question for the game or it will stall.

message 21725: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments TTPBM : Which vegetable do you dislike the most?

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) Anything bitter. I'm struggling to name one because I don't know the meaning of the word in English.

TTPBM : Which type of sub religion do you consider closer to Hinduism? Hare Krishna (ISKCON) or Buddhism?

message 21727: by REENA (new)

REENA | 11 comments Don't know enough about either religion to comment.

TTPBM: If you can chose any political leader (Past or Present) to run India, who would you pick?

message 21728: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) Lee Kuan Yew (16 September 1923 – 23 March 2015). He ran Singapore to astonishingly good effect. He remains the only dictator to improve his country beyond measure.

TTPBM : Same.

message 21729: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 386 comments In my opinion our Prime minister Mr.Narendra Modi is already doing a good job so I pick him

TTPBM - Can you make the French dish Creme bulle without eggs

message 21730: by Luffy Sempai (last edited Apr 01, 2023 07:33PM) (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) It is certainly possible. I've seen and tasted other dish where eggs have been successfully replaced. But none of my family and relatives know how to make that dish.

TTPBM : If you had to choose to emigrate to either Pakistan or Bangladesh, which would you choose?

message 21733: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments I chose Bangladesh as the majority of Pakistanis are religious fanatics. I experienced this on social media. I can go on a sightseeing trip there but I can't imagine permanently living there.

TTPBM : If you had to choose to emigrate to either Madagascar or Kenya, which would you choose?

message 21734: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) Madagascar has some French speakers there. But Kenya has the better economy, though not by much. I'd choose the latter.

TTPBM : What is the main question you have or would like to ask Chat GPT?

message 21735: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments I don't use Chat GPT

TTPBM : Choose a country where you would have liked to be born and been a citizen of. (You can't choose your own country)

message 21736: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) I choose the island nearest to me, Reunion, belonging to France. The level of interracial mixing is unparalleled in that place, though the whites are racist as almost everywhere. The island has whites, blacks, Tamils, and some other creeds. Good place. And I can hop to Mauritius anytime ;)

TTPBM : Same?

message 21737: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments I choose the Philippines as that's where my gf is from. Also I am interested in her country and it's culture.

TTPBM : Which is your favourite card based game?

message 21738: by Luffy Sempai (new)

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) Don't have any. Card games are notorious for being socialising and I tend to have missed those 'lessons' from elders and cousins, teaching you how to have a poker face and to behave 'well'.

TTPBM : Same.

message 21739: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 386 comments Favorite card based game is 3-2-5 .

TTPBM : What car of Indian make you think is the best?

message 21744: by Selva (new)

Selva | 3391 comments Don't know much about cars. In the entry segment, Hyundai is selling well I think. I know they are korean but they make their cars in India.

Same/ what is ur opinion on the new impact player rule in this year's IPL?

message 21745: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4069 comments It's a good rule I think. Eliminates the over dependence and exorbitant money spent on all-rounders.

TTPBM : How many books are you planning to read this year?
