message 17555: by Sankara Jayanth (last edited Jan 08, 2017 05:03AM) (new)

Sankara Jayanth S (sankarajayanth) | 1158 comments It's a very short one I wrote, it's not quite a complete story but a few lines that give hint of a story. :D

A letter from a soldier
She finished reading the letter and sat back on her chair, wiping away her tears. The 4 year old kid on her lap looked at her face and asked what were those two glistening lines running down from her eyes.

She turned him over her lap, kissed him on his forehead and said smilingly, "You remember how dad tells you that my eyes are two stars? Well, these two lines running down my eyes are star trails, my dear".

Neena | 649 comments "It was dark except for the shining moon and glittering little stars. I can´t sleep tonight, he whispered to himself. Its the third day here, in this old monastry where still dwells the memories and smell of monks, each wall tells you a story. It a different experience. on a hill, as a witness of many lives and history there stands this monastry with the seriousness of a father and tenderness of a mother at the same time. One third of its surrounding is forest and rest is a large cemetry.Little lights on each tomb makes the night even more beautiful. It is the only sight he gets from his window. Amazingly it does not generate even a bit of fear. Its calm, tranquil... here, silence speaks. Slowly he got out of his room, walked out to the yard. The cool breez caressed his face. Stood there for sometime looking at the distant sleeping town, mulling oversomething... ( to be continued... :)

message 17563: by Inder (new)

Inder Suri (thecloudfollower) Nope. I feel it isn't nirvana. On the contrary, it is a distraction.

TTPBM: Have you thought about Humanism so carefully as God and Religion?

message 17564: by Sankara Jayanth (last edited Jan 09, 2017 11:30PM) (new)

Sankara Jayanth S (sankarajayanth) | 1158 comments My response to both questions above:
A question that will always set me off. I'll try to keep it short. I do not want to believe in God because if I do, nothing will explain why such a God would let so much suffering in this world unless he is evil to his bones. Why he stands and doesn't protect the innocent? According to religions, it is called 'karma' or some other bullshit idea that normalizes the horrors and excludes their Gods from responsibility of the horrors that happen to people. But what have 1 day old children ever did to receive such illnesses and deaths? No. I do not want to believe in God when I so much suffering in the world that is underserved. Only a vile God would let this happen and the fact the religions give the omnipresent God a pass from such a questioning sickens me and makes me sad about the entire human race. It might have been easier to believe that God does not exist and that all this suffering we see today is a result of evolution and chaos of the universe itself. That would have been a easier thing to accept and work with. But the fact that humans believe in a higher power and normalize the suffering that need not exist just for the simple fact that this God who is all so powerful could heal them at their request. So what, God is waiting for people to beg him to save their new children who have born with a heart affliction that will kill him within 5 days of birth? It is laughable and pitiable, how religions have corrupted human race with ideas that blind us even though their 'outward' intentions are to make humans wise. I do not apologize for this rant. And when I say 'religions', I mean every single one of them since the beginning of time.

@Inder I'm glad how you framed the question. Thanks, it's a question every human needs to ask themselves. I appreciate it. :)

Hari | 10 comments yes, Man created god, God created Religions. Now its up to the sky. concluded as "God is our product".

message 17566: by Lovesfrost (last edited Jan 10, 2017 07:15AM) (new)

Lovesfrost | 2224 comments I do believe in God even if he is an alien (yeah ,you read that right!) and I would like to meet him some day and thank him for all those beautiful miracles- because you always have 2 sides of a coin if he's the one who's doing so much bad ,he's also the same person who is doing so much good to overshadow the bad :)

and in the same town where parents leave a new born baby in the bushes to die(just because it's a girl) alone a strolling couple adopt the kid -give it the love- more than you could love your own kid :)

and humans have created religion, castes and always chosen whom to love more and love less :)IMO
