ttpbm : Does it come naturaly to humans to have a different set of rules for oneself and others?"

I believe we as humans have a need for fueling our ego. We crave for subjugation. we do this two ways: we make ourselves into the one who controls us i.e our ego controlling us . On the other hand, some find it better to be controlled by others like 'worshiping' any political figure, deity, celebrity etc. So I believe yes, either way we do make different set of rules for ourselves and others.

Edit: sorry, forgot to add the question at the end.

ttpbm: How has reading helped you evolve as a better self?

How has reading helped you evolve as a better self?

Everyone irrespective of their age, color, race, gender must have pondered the question "why do we exist" and "what purpose do we serve in this vast world". No one, even science can't help us answering this question. But I believe that certain books and movies help us getting closer to the answer. It might differ from person to person.

Fight Club (book and the movie) is my Bible, Bhagavad Gita, Quran. Beyond the fiction there is a harsh truth for us to investigate. Fight Club is certainly an eye opener for me.

"This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time"
- Fight Club.
So go out and do whatever you like.

Initially, no. Later, Yes. Now not very sure, but I do feel there is some power somewhere somehow. My son has an interesting idea saying earth is a computer game and God is the player controlling it. On the whole, if you ask me to say 'yes or no' so thought rambling answers, then I would say Yes, :-)
