TTPBM: What is the best way to loose weight...should join a gym or start walking ? I do Yoga from time to time but has not helped since its light yoga

message 1138: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 26, 2011 09:14PM) (new)

Join a college. The food at the cafeteria was so bad I went from 'stocky' to 'bony' in the space of a month.
Not surprisingly, I have been making all the lost weight back now. I love eating far too much to stay thin for too long.

TTPBM: Please give Mansee some serious advice. I'm guessing she wouldn't find my comment too useful.

message 1139: by Muddle head (new)

Muddle head (adic) | 4646 comments I'd agree wid u cincinnatusc, but it turns out to be expensive than a gym! :) And i've the same problem too, i love eating far too much to lose weight!

TTPBM: same :P

message 1140: by [deleted user] (new)

Mansee join a gym. Seriosuly. It helps. Try spinnning.

http://www.spinning.com/spinning-enth...
just an example. see if gyms in ur city have it. here in pune its very commmon.

Mansee walking only helps improve ur endurance and it contributes to weight loss only if combined with a diet program.
If u really need to lose weight join a gym that has a good work out plan (probably alternate days of cardio and strength training)

TTPBM: DID i just ramble on? :P

message 1141: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, you certainly did. Why do I get the feeling the 'go to the gym' rant was a case of 'been there, done that'?

TTPBM: Do you think fitness is overrated?

message 1142: by [deleted user] (new)

To be honest. In India at least, it is highly higly underrated. And its the youngsters who take it for granted blaming it on an active lifestyle. (Im being crude- but thats bull) U wont believe the number of patients i get below the age of 35.
Im not saying u need to be thin and fat is bad. But u gotta be healthy.

TTPBM: What do u do to keep fit?

BTW: yes , going there doing that :)

message 1143: by Muddle head (new)

Muddle head (adic) | 4646 comments Well, I eat!
Rite now, am not doing anything specific for my fitness, so thought if i stop eating, i'd be even worse, so yeah, 'eating' is the first step in my fitness regime.

TTPBM: same?

message 1144: by [deleted user] (new)

Nothing. I have the appetite of an elephant but never put on too much weight, so I've never had to bother all that much about gyms and all that tosh. Not yet, anyway.

TTPBM: Has this discussion on fitness, health and whatnot gone far too long for your liking?

TTPBM:how much importance do u give to money?

message 1146: by Muddle head (new)

Muddle head (adic) | 4646 comments dnt mind, dats wat my lunch room discussion is all abt too, got used to it. Colleagues suddenly became health conscious and raided a nearby talwalkars in a group. Everyone now brags abt how many calories he burnt while eating 100x amount of cals! Sort of fun to me!

TTPBM: same (i guess 'nite owl' is a bit grumpy abt it, btw, did u just wake up? or abt to sleep?)

The importance it needs :-) I wont say money is all, but I also wont say I'll be happy without money. One of my favorite day dreams is having enough money in your hand as you need - nothing more, nothing less. For ex, if I buy a book for Rs. 576, the same amount should magically be in my hands.
